No idea how the fight between Ichigo / Aizen will go, but the killing shot will come from Gin. I was thinking the same too since he's not dead yet and he mentioned Ichigo's eyes. He'll probably put the blow when Ichigo is about to lose.

Often... most of the time if the manga is popular, Jump won't let the author finish it. Best example, Dragonball was supposed to end with Freeza. Goku was to die on Namek and that was going to be that. Jump forced him to keep going and it slowly spiraled into junk from there. If you look at Bleach, it was likely going to end at the end of Rukia arch. But, its popularity soared an Jump kept Kubo on it. Aizen's leap into the spotlight was unusually sudden wasn't it? Naruto suffers the same, but the writer is just better than Kubo, plain and simple... even so, much of it is getting way off in tangents. My favorite manga "Mugen no Junin" suffered pretty badly... more because the Afternoon didn't have anything else remotely popular. It finally ended at the 25th volume, but could have easily ended 10+ volumes sooner. While it's clear Kubo's purposefully dragging it out, it's definitely not forced. First of all, he's foreshadowed most of the developments with the mask, and writers tend to establish most of the story beforehand if they're all linked together. Second, he's churning out completely tangential, pointless movies (which, along with fillers are examples of story planned separately) at a rate of one every 1-2 years. They're not forcing him to make those movies, he's just milking the cash cow. It's been almost 10 years of this, surely this is an unusually long contract.

Well, OnePiece is subject to the same... all manga is; the skill of the author determines how well they pull it off. In all likelyhood, Bleach is his first manga and thus he hasn't solved how to fufill his contract with Jump (schedule) as well as their demands for extensions in a way that keeps it intact. igotmyown: I'm thinking you don't know the business side... I'm not going to pretend I work in manga publishing, but I do work in a field that licenses... so yeah, anyway, the movies are NEVER controlled by the manga author. For the most part, depending on their contract, they lose that right. Jump or the publisher licenses the manga to be turned into anime and movies and the result thereof does provide profit to the author and publisher. For example, none of the DBZ movies were ever part of the official story. EVER. Same with Naruto, etc. Also, anime versions cannot be controlled by the original author... there man be some authors who seek exception clauses, but most never imagine their manga will one day be an anime or a movie and the thought of such likely stuns them in such a state of happiness they just smile in glee. For manga contracts they will usually do a minimum term in which the author must develop a reader base... Bleach did this well, and then follow it from there. Then, year-by-year it will be renewed. For Japanese, if your contractor asks you to extend it (the story) when you planned to end it, you will often cave to their request, ESPECIALLY someone as big and powerful as Jump. Jump = The New Yorker of manga. Foreshadowing of the mask doesn't really connect with Aizen being a butterfly... just saying... Kubo lost steam a while ago, but its too popular to just easily end so he's forced to drag what gas he has out of it. For the most part, with the whole "Royal Key" arc he has going, he may be able to squeeze another year or two from it before the popularity finally tanks to bottom and he's allowed to end it. Same thing happened with DBZ for the most part... Buu saga was Toriyama's way of saying "fuck you" to Jump. And, as I explained, he had nothing to do with GT, but didn't control the license, thus it was made.
