He got it when he killed the previous one to get his captain rank or something to that effect... everythign else about power levels and everything never made sense in bleach so that's whatever. | ||

He's one of the top level captains, in spite of the fact that he knows jack about his shikai, bankai, kido, and only has basic flash step. Makes pretty good sense that teaching him those things could make him be a shit load more powerful. So yes, he is the strongest but the least developed of any of the captains. | ||

I'm guessing it passed out of Unohana's hands when she became the healing division's captain, explaining why, well, shes still alive. | ||

They've also mentioned he doesn't know how to fight and he can't hear his shikai. It's not a great story but there has been some semblance of continuity. | ||

Really? huh..i figured i would have known that. But yeah the power rankings are still BS but whatever. I DO like the stuff thats happening with Shunsui thou, pretty much knew hed be the new CC when he calmed everyone down after the yamamoto died. Also. was that a translation error or did the elvis-dude just say the soul-king was in love with ichigo? he said "fall for" but is that saying used in japan? or is it implying fall as in an angel falling or something? | ||
