Bleach: A manga about a young boy/man set in the contemporary world who wields a massive sword and fights creatures from the underworld. His strength primarily comes from training hard and getting really really angry in fights. Also a can-do attitude. Berserk: A manga about a young boy/man set in the medieval world who wields a massive sword and fights creatures from the underworld. His strength primarily comes from training hard and getting really really angry in fights. Also, a can-do attitude. Bleach First Run: August, 2001 Berserk First Run: December, 1990.

You could say the same for a ton of mangas. One Piece, Naruto, HxH... and many more all fall under this pattern.

Bleach First Run: August, 2001 Berserk First Run: December, 1990. wow what a coincidence that Bleach and beserk both use such a stereotypical main character and Hollows arent from the underworld, thats the main point about hollows if your seriously trying to say that Bleach ripped off Beserk then i dont even know how to respond and since when does Ichigo train hard at all? the only time he trained was a couple days to get a crash course in Bankai

Bleach is a Yu Yu Hakusho knockoff, not Berserk. However, I noticed that Bleach went it's own direction after the Bount arc.

Same characters and some of the plot. Not too many people are raving about how good those are. I understand that they're limited in their ability to advance a plot, but the filler arcs were almost all pretty bad. I will admit that Kubo is good at character creation (not so good at character development), but I think anyone that could write a really solid storyline could also come up with his own universe and characters. As an aside, is it possible that the sword pointing at Urahara is from Tsukishima (most recent substitute shinigami arc, second in command behind Ginjo)? He could possible cut the opponent in such a way that he'd forget how to control his powers and blow up from within. edit: There are a lot of series with similar main characters, plots, and themes. Mangaka learn from their predecessors and incorporate a lot of prior successful works into their own. It's a very normal thing. That's why some of you will see Berserk, some will see Yu Yu Hakusho, etc.

However, I noticed that Bleach went it's own direction after the Bount arc. i dont really see the connection TBH maybe i just havent read hakusho recently enough id say bleach is pretty orginal, sure you can draw similarities between it and other mangas, but you can do that with any manga aside from insanely old ones theres no such thing as 100% original since theres so much stuff done As an aside, is it possible that the sword pointing at Urahara is from Tsukishima (most recent substitute shinigami arc, second in command behind Ginjo)? He could possible cut the opponent in such a way that he'd forget how to control his powers and blow up from within. if its Tsukishima that would probably be enough to make me give up this manga, it makes no sense hes still alive and it makes no sense for him to be there (both in the HOW THE FUCK DID HE GET THERE and the WHY THE FUCK WOULD HE GO THERE sense) its 100% the Vizards that stayed on the world of the living for some reason maybe teaming up with some of the remaining Arrancars (Grimmjow)

Everything's a knock-off of everything else, so to say someone else couldn't do Bleach better is not very logical imo. they might be able to do "bleach" better but then it wouldnt be "bleach", it would be a manga with Characters that look like some of the characters from "bleach" but act and talk completely different and do different things for different reasons

Bottom line, odds are pretty good someone could do Bleach better than Kubo. About Fantasy: You really gotta read more fantasy if you think everything involves elves, orcs, dwarves, and wizards.

Comic books do relaunches of titles ALL the time. Look how many times Batman has been redone. And some relaunches have been a hell of a lot better than others. Just because the japanese manga industry doesn't operate in the same way doesn't mean it's outside the realm of possibility. This is art we're talking about. It's hard to pin down an objective better or best, but it's definitely doable to reimagine characters and settings within a single universe.

The difference between Batman with Val Kilmer and Batman with Christian Bale is what you call an improvement. Difference between Batman and Green Lantern is what you call a different story. Your argument doesn't make any sense.

But just because it's a different riff on Batman doesn't make it not Batman anymore. The difference between Batman with Val Kilmer and Batman with Christian Bale is what you call an improvement. Your argument doesn't make any sense. ya so lets just find a manga similar to Bleach, change the title to bleach, change the names of some of the characters and call it a day bam i jsut fixed bleach
