Akira is especially good, including incredible soundtrack and some innovative directing (critics were commenting on the use of silence in this movie, it gives some scenes this additional kick and it occurs at the moments you wouldn't expect). And it's available in 1080p now! I've seen Akira a few years back and I remember loving it, haha really an awesome movie. I'll definitely check out Ghost in the Shell, thanks for the suggestions!! :D On topic, Just saw Thor. It was better than I expected, but still pretty meh. 7/10

Both land somewhere around the same sector. e. well Honneamisen is 87 but close enough.

Well, if you're thinking in classics you could always add stuff like Patlabor, which fits nicely with GitS, not just in terms of music and director, but overall theme.

![]() Dorian Gray is a young man who moves to London and in a mysterious way keeps his youth eternally, but a special painting gradually reveals his inner ugliness to all. Dorian, quickly after his arrival, becomes close friends with the cynical Lord Henry Wotton, who teaches him a very different way to approach life. The movie plays a lot on getting to know the characters and we get to do that in some sense, but not enough. I never start to care about any of the characters even though some of them are well acted (particularly Colin Firth as Lord Henry Wotton, also seen in The King's Speech which is a great movie that all should see). I would have liked to see more explicit sex and violence scenes, it is a very big part of the movie's story but the scenes are very lacking in detail. There's also a few big gaps in the story where we never get to know what happens to the main characters in these gaps. These are reasons to why this movie feel very lackluster and rushed. This movie could have been so much more, even a great movie, but falls short due to reasons like these. It's still a decent movie that I'd say might be worth watching. IMDB-link

![]() Memories of Murder In 1986 a serial killer is on a rampage, killing and raping young, beautiful women and it's up to Detective Park Doo-Man and Detective Cho Yong-koo to solve the case. They are two stupid detectives without any investigation techniques. Using brutality and torture on anyone who they consider a suspect without any results. A third, kind of mysterious Detective, Seo Tae-Yoon, comes to the country-side from Seoul to help with the case. Based on real-life killings of ten women in South Korea during 1986-1991. The cinematography is ... haunting, to say the least, dark figures running through grassy fields, shadows lurking in the woods, and with dark, rainy scenes they all sets the perfect mood for a criminal thriller. It's very well choreographed, every scene is more or less incredible. The great choreography together with great acting makes this movie fascinating and even though it's quite slow-paced, you will never get bored. And with superb a music score you'll be bound all the way through. It's a thrilling movie but it has its humorous moments, and I for one, really enjoyed those. Kang-ho Song (he is the man to the left in the picture ![]() This is one of the best crime/thriller movies I have ever seen, easily up there in the top with Seven, L.A. Confidential, Memento, Insomnia amongst others and I highly recommend this movie to everyone. IMDB-Link (I recommend all movies in this text)

Can't really describe the movie, though it's about what was going on at Unit 731, a japanese R&D facility for Biological and Chemical warfare, where they conducted experiments on living people, mostly chinese and korean. Interesting movie, or not the movie itself but rather the events themselves. I haven't decided if I like this movie or not, I was pretty grossed out at times - which I seldom get with movies. If it's the scenes or the music in the movie I'm not sure, could be a combination of the two. Philosophy of a Knife - IMDB Unit 731 - Wikipedia Trailer below. + Show Spoiler +
