But funny were Legolas´ over-the-top last fight and that greedy and gutless human (deputy mayor or sth like this). The latter role would´ve been even better when Peter Jackson played that guy himself...

Two things: 1. I am an atheist but ain't exactly against religious people since my parents are religious 2. I had very little knowledge about the movie other than it is based on Moses.
The movie itself takes an interesting POV, it doesn't justify God's work onto the Egyptians like most other Christian movies try to. Moses would even argue against God (who is depicted as a child, my parents disliked it but I thought it was pretty clever)
It also questions on faith a little ("which God?"; "which God would kill children", not exact quotes)
But The movie ultimately fails because of pacing. It spent roughly one hour just displaying how Egyptians suffer from God's divine punishments, such as the locusts.
It's incredibly sickening to watch through that whole part and I have sat through movies like A Serbian Film but none of them stirred up this feeling to me. Unlike disaster films where strangers die and you won't feel much. In this movie, somehow you feel disgusted at how those people suffer.
At the end, no one in my family liked it, I stand by my recommendation that we should have went to watch interstellar instead.
Pretty much agree. This movie was so "Hollywood" it was overwhelming. The plagues were boring, the acting way overdone (worst Christian Bale performance I've ever seen) and the pacing bad. The ending of the movie and the way they portrayed god were especially horrible.
This failed miserably as a movie and even worse as a biblical story.
Europa Report - Decent sci-fi movie. The start of it was ok but once things start picking up it kinda turns to shit + Show Spoiler +
with the thing that end up stalking them once they get there but never see (until the end). Had the same problem with Sunshine. Can I just have a sci-fi movie that doesn't turn into a monster/slasher one? wtf...
Lego Movie - Never thought much of it but there was so much hype and positive things about it that I decided to see it. Really glad I did. Even though it seems like a kids movie, there is actually a lot of depth to it, more than it leads on. Not to mention the humor.
Hercules - Usually check out movies with the Rock in it so yeah I watched this. Was pretty dull for the most part, not very good. Guess I expected that though.
Dirty Wars - I remember this got nominated last year at some big award shows. Basically an expose on the war on terror and torture/indiscriminate bombings by drones etc. Pretty depressing. The documentary is well done though.
E-Team - Documentary on Netflix about a group of people who go into warzones and other dangerous places to expose and document war crimes and crimes against humanity. Most of it takes place in Syria but there is some backstory about the group when they were in Bosnia. Pretty interesting.
Sling Blade - Actually didn't know at first that Thorton directed this as well. It's pretty predictable but it's also heartwarming, and ultimately in the end, tragic. Good movie.
Dog Day Afternoon - I know this is a highly praised Pacino movie but it was a really slow burner for me. Feels like it takes so long for anything to really happen. Interesting that it is based on a true story though.
One of the better movies of the past half year for me is the equalizer. Really nice story, i love denzel movies, what a boss! Good story, good actionscenes, good build up, good denzel!
I just saw The Passion of Joan of Arc and oh my god Falconetti's performance is by far the best one I've ever seen. It hurts to watch her, that's how good it is.
Saw Wild with Reese Witherspoon. Fantastic movie, highly recommend it to anyone (as long as you don't mind nudity). Very well done and you can definitely tell it's from the same director as Dallas Buyers Club (another movie I loved). It seems like Wild is only being played in indie movie theaters at the moment, so you may have to search a bit for it but it's absolutely great. It's a true story about a women hiking the PCT (Pacific Crest Trail) which goes from Mexico to Canada through the USA. It's a true story and a best selling book. It goes a bit into her addict history and why she's hiking the trail. Her mom is played by the blonde girl from Jurassic Park who does well too. All together, it features beautiful scenery, great acting, great directory, great story and comes together to make the best movie I've seen in a while. 5/5

Gasp, golly gosh what is the world coming to today. I thank you, kind sir, for informing me that this film depicts such depravity. I will certainly be boycotting this movie, and I will advise my Church of this fact immediately so that we can start a campaign against it. It is a dangerous world we are living in now and I fear for my children.

My opinion is that movie is kinda trashy. Dude who wrote the script has never read a decent book in his life, guaranteed.

Which movie you enjoyed more that came out in the last couple of months?

Latest movie I really liked was last year's The best offer. *I don't even finish like 80% of all movies I watch*
I saw the interview, its pretty funny but its a pretty standard rogan franco film, but they only do drugs like twice in the entire movie which considering their previous collaborations is kind of a miracle lol.
So, the Interview is still a pretty good movie while sober and not under any substances. Just a fun and easy movie to laugh at even if its a little immature at times
