Just watched Frozen 2013
The best part was they gave one of the most important lesson that is taught to everyone by their parents. + Show Spoiler +
Was pretty good in the beginning but proceeded to become mediocre in the end. Not bad. Not pixar quality but i like the music and it has disney like quality a lot of singing. Overall score - 7/10

Speaking of comics I saw Iron Man 3 in the last couple of days.
Found it decent and funny, was entertained. I can see how someone that takes comics seriously might dislike such a movie though. It looks more like a parody of a superhero movie than anything, especially this third one. Since I really don't care about comics me and gf were able to enjoy all the ridiculous moments of this movie. Worth noting that I usually have a hard time with superhero movies that take themselves too seriously like Man of Steel and the Batman movies... they usually end up boring me. Worth mentioning that special effects were really top quality also.
At the end of the day it is forgettable but I had no other expectations and still passed an enjoyable moment.

Watched The Great Beauty

Any Italian care to explain what is this about? Because I felt like I was missing so many connections to the Italian culture that I couldn't understand and get what this movie is about really.

Old Boy 2003 wasn't actually a good movie.+ Show Spoiler + I think there were some cultural disconnect as I don't think that sleeping with one's daughter if you don't know she's your daughter is that terrible.

^You should spoiler that.

Yeah. I even started a thread about it in this subforum. Seems like more people were positively surprised.

We're the Millers - Mild amusing, generic comedy. It felt like it went on way too long, Maybe I just wasn't in the mood.
Meet Bill - A feel good comedy. I enjoyed this one, even though it looks like it got panned by critics.
American Psycho - Fantastic and disturbing. Creepy and funny. Christian Bale is such a versatile actor. The ending is very interesting, not sure what to believe. A testament to how good this movie was the fact that my opinion of the main character changed and developed so much through the story. At first I liked him. And then I hated him. Particularly when he killed the dog, for some reason. And then by the end I felt very sorry for him and how he was trapped within his own head and was slowly losing control. To me, it seemed like he genuinely wanted to understand how others think but it was physically impossible. I had never honestly considered that before, and it really made me reconsider his whole situation

Just re-watched the Bourne trilogy. Amazing. Still my favorite movie(s) of all time.
Anyone recommend a movie or a movie series similar to The Bourne movies?

Just finished Justice League: War. There's no point telling you to avoid it because if you're a Justice League fan you're likely going to watch it anyway just because you have to but it was seriously trash. They ruined Batman by making him seem sarcastic. Batman has always been sarcastic but serious sarcastic, not obvious grinning sarcastic.

She was also more playful.
Everyone has a creative license though. In Flashpoint paradox she had a ruthless conqueror personality.
It lightened the mood and the fights were amazing. The background didn't make much sense though. How does Superman not know who Batman is? How does GL not know that Batman is real?

I thought it was completely terrible.
It seemed like it was really trying to discuss current affairs, with drones and Iran and shit, but just ended up halfassing those points. Like it was reading from some current affairs list of buzz words to check off. Most of the acting was mediocre, the sidekick was pointless, the advisor was pointless and holy shit that was some random -- and apparently completely idiotic suicide bombers.
The scientist guy was interesting a for a while, he seemed to struggle a bit with trying to decide between greed and being the humanitarian he started out being, but at some point he just seemed to go: "Fuck it, I needz the moneh now, fuck my long history of being a good guy, herp derp, I R BAD GUY SCIENCE GUY NAU".
Unlike the bad guy that just seemed to have no motivation what so ever besides being as greedy as humanly possible. Yes I get it, big corporations bad, people good. But maybe there could be room for a grey area?

First seasons of 24 are pretty good in this regard (but from some point - season 3 I believe - they get progressively worse). You could also check out Get Carter (the real one, not Stallone bullshit remake).

Not a fan of 24. Thanks though.

On a more general spy film front might want to check out Three Days of the Condor and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.

Tinker... seems like the opposite of Jason Bourne in terms of treatment. I second Get Carter, maybe Heat ?

Because it's based on the new 52 and before they formally met each other and became the Justice League. Batman knew who was Superman was, even his secret identity but had no reason yet to go mess with him. Same for Superman to Batman and everyone just thought Batman was a myth.
It was an awesome movie, it just had a different take on the DC Universe, hence it being based on the new 52 remake. "Leagues" above any animated movie made by Marvel.

Isn't Heat a heist movie? Ronin would be better here I believe. I'd go more into Spy Game (best spy/secret agent movie ever imo). From more recent stuff there's also Breach and Safe House, but I don't really remember if they're on par with other mentioned films. Also, I think that the new Bourne (Legacy) was OK. Not as good as the original trilogy but still enjoyable and nicely done.
Oh, and there's always MI: Ghost Protocol, which is simply amazing, although on a lighter tone than Bourne.
Edit: Totally forgot about Sinners and Saints too... I watch too many movies.

Watched The Tree of Life.
I really don't even know what to say about this one, which I guess I should have expected going into a Terrance Malick flick. I'll say this - There is a 30 minute stretch in there (The formation of the universe coupled with the kids growing up) that was absolutely amazing cinema and I think is alone worth watching the movie for. Outstanding use of visuals and music. People told me the movie had shades of and/or invoked 2001 in it, and I think in the first part of that segment of the movie they are clearly right. The balls on Malick to take on my main man Stanley K!
As for the rest of the movie I'm really not even sure how i feel. Brilliant but frustrating. Even though I somewhat liked the poetic nature of the movie since it's almost all just a remembrance of childhood, overall I think the movie begged for less whispered dialogue and more character development. I liked the main idea of grace vs nature that the movie explored (which were embodied in the children's parents) but I think it could have been more. The father, Bratt Pitt, I think was clearly the highlight of the movie imo.
