7/10, was pretty funny for the most part and wasn't too overly dramatic or anything during the "fall" for a comedy like most are now. Just a lighthearted film to watch on a boring night or something. The google hate for the film is pretty unwarranted considering I can't even remember anything google related they were talking about in the film, the jokes are pretty stand-alone.
Watched this last night, I agree with your description. I was pleasantly surprised as I went in expecting something rather mediocre. Found myself either laughing or with a big grin quite a lot throughout the movie.

Mostly because someone brought up the comment that it really didn't relate as much to technology as I thought.
Kung Fu Hustle I thought it had some funny scenes and was pretty funny. A decent martial arts comedy.
Jobs So goddamn boring. Did not finish.
Red Cliff Based on the Romance of the Three Kingdoms. I thought it was ok. The battles were nice. You probably should download subtitles if you don't understand what they're saying and then apply them to the downloaded movie.

Escape Plan imdb My expectations were fairly low (and that's perhaps why) but I was pleasantly surprised. It's still pretty much the type of film you expect but it's better than anything Arnie and Sly have recently done imo. 7/10

Dark City (Alex Payas) I'm a bit at loss here, not sure how to write a critic of this. There are a lot of very good ideas, and quite a few bad ones, with a few formal problems. People who're into scifi movies or "twist movies" (quite a few people on this website unless I'm mistaken :p ) should watch it, it's really interesting at times. 6.5/10

Actually my biggest problem with this movie was that I didn't think Rufus Sewell offered much in the lead role, it was a really bland and shaky performance.
Did you watch the director's cut or the original version?
The director's cut is far superior, in the original theatrical version, the studio forced the voiceover, particularly in the beginning that basically explains the movie's whole mystery and is utterly awful, like I wouldn't even the original version getting the real experience of the movie.

Captain Merica 2011 Eh. Classic SuperHero movie.
I feel like the fights were rather tame. Nothing I would want to rewatch. They were at least true to Cap unlike how the batman series made up a new superhero and slapped the batman logo on it.

i kinda actually like the first one but the second one was atrocious. i've seen some bad movies but this one was so sub par made me wonder if half way through the movie the director just said 'fuck it'.

I think I saw the original version, which would explain a lot of what annoyed me in the movie (bizarre sequences and a few moments where it could have been a lot more subtle). Thanks for the comment, I'll try to watch the director's cut one of these days.

7/10
Highly anticipated by me ever since I heard about it. I thought it was going to be this brilliant emotionally charged movie that was going to stir my senses. while not a bad movie by any stretch of the imagination I thought it was just your run of the mill historical drama. I didn't feel particularly sympathic to the character as I was to the treatment of slaves in general. Acting was pretty good until Brad Pitt showed up near the end of the movie. Not really a fan cause I don't think he can act. He's not Keanue Reeves bad but BP is basically the same character in every one of his movies. Not much of a range unlike Leonardo for example.
I think the better slave movie by far was Django. Jamie Foxx was better, Leonardo DiCaprio was better in the slave master role. Kerry Washington was better in the love interest love. Two very different movies except for the subject matter but Django was more emotionally gripping.

well getting compared to tarantino always sucks nowadays since he is one of the few last good "mainstream" directors. Django was a great movie for what it set out to do, while 12 years a slave was only above average at what it set out to do so I understand your sentiment completely.

Wolverine
So I was watching it with my dad but now I wasnt too fixed on immersing myself.
I just suddenly had a thought if the movies 'villain' and his masterplan. If old man yashia succeeded, his plan revolves around mariko and obtaining logan's powers.
He needs to die legally and mariko inherits his company. He also gets logans regeneration. Once he is young again, he needs to regain control of yashida corp. He cant just jump out and say it is him.
As such, he needs to regain it thru mariko, legally and by becoming family again. So, his masterplan might have involved him marrying his own granddaughter.
Im just saying. Because based on what I see from a character standpoint, old man yashida would go that far for his legacy. And he wont be the type to stay in the shadows after obtaining his youth again.
Just my thoughts.

The counsilor, what do you guys think?
I watched it without any prior research (not even a poster) as it was the only available movie to watch when I got to the theater (last full show). Like the same time I watch saving private ryan - I was surprised! and I will leave it that way for you to find out

Dune
Watched the original movie adaption years after seeing it's Sci-Fi channel remake. It covers more of the themes than the remake, but is altogether too short.

Intouchables

I have finally watched this movie after years of fearing it will be too emotional(man problems lol) and I have to say I really really liked it. I thought it will be a heavy drama movie but I found out it was quite funny and emotional too. I loved the mixture of them. A unique movie with great actors. Definitely a must watch.
9/10 for me.

Elysium
Movie about how the privileged have everything and the poor suffer. It's right about that but it was overly dramatic at times. It was fine. The trailer makes it seem like it'll focus on the action but it spent a decent time building up the background story too. I don't recommend it, but there are no major flaws.
+ Show Spoiler +Not sure how the main guy knew Spider was on board. I guess he guessed due to the tracking device or they talked off screen.

Prisoners (2013)
One of the best thrillers I've seen for sure. Beautiful picture, Jackman and Gyllenhaal with rock solid performances and a good tempo (I've heard some people say they felt it was slow at times, but I think it worked out great where the story was going at the time and how the characters felt).
It even has Ars-Art/Smile's long lost twin brother!
8/10

Red
A pretty decent action movie. All the actors are old. I think the Sequel was better than the original. Morgan Freeman was unnecessary and he was only there so people could pay their respects. Morgan is definitely too old to be playing in movies anymore as anyone outside a retirement home. I like the acting, the story, the action, and the humor. They don't make movies like they used to (jk, I have no idea how they used to make movies).
Mr. Nobody Quite possibly one of the best movies I've ever seen. A movie about a man who lives many lives. + Show Spoiler +Robert Frost's famous poem The Road Not Taken is about how we tell ourselves our choices were right when really they had little impact. We just convince ourselves that we made the better choice or the road "less traveled". This movie disagrees. It shows how every little choice can result in vastly different lives.
We're taught that life is dependent on our choices and that every choice is incredibly important. They are, but there's no way to guess how things will turn out when we make a choice.
They kept returning to a motif of water. I don't think I fully understood the movie but I think the water was supposed to show a life being cleansed away. There were probably other reasons for the water. The main character is scared of water at the beginning. The imagery of the film is beautiful.
The music can be uplifting and also sorrowful.
The movie grabs your attention about 30 minutes in but takes a while to get into.
It's really confusing and hard to keep track of which life you're watching.
The sheer insanity of the movie just blows me away.

Hunger Games: Catching Fire
Continues to be the best adapted contemporary hit book/series in quite a long time. Quite faithful in tone, asesthetic and plot, and at the same time works very well on its own as a movie. It works having read the books or not having read them. Visual storytelling is quite good and actually adds something, rather than being merely functional, while working within and at the same time subverting many of the ideals of modern day media and Hollywood. I'm legitimately excited for the third one.

It wasn't supposed to. It's a frigging comedy.

It was very enjoyable.
