This was a movie I had absolutely no interest in beforehand and just watched it casually with a few people, was pleasantly surprised.
Would give it a solid 7/10 for the style and eye candy alone. I also liked the soundtrack.

Just saw "Olympus has Fallen" entertaining movie if you can look past how stupid everyone in a position of power is. The president makes the stupidest decisions which makes suspension of disbelief extremely hard. It was nice to see Gerard Butler going HAM on some terrorists in an otherwise forgettable flick. 5.5/10.

There was a documentary on BBC2 about 2 months ago about the Iraq War of which exactly the same thing could be said.

Prometheus - story is interesting and cinematography is excellent. But some of the characters are so dumb and clearly unfit for such an expensive expedition that it is just annoying to watch whenever they do stupid things that you know is just going to increase the body count and it just breaks your immersion in the story. I wish the director used Charlize Theron's character as the main protagonist instead of the other one. Fassbender and Charlize are the most interesting of the whole crew.
Black Swan - could not finish the movie. Portman's character takes so much abuse meekly that it just turned me off.
True Grit - awesome movie. Great writing and acting all around. Well, sometimes Matt Damon acts too much that you could see Matt Damon instead of the character he's playing.

The Purge--just watched it with my sister and cousins. But gah, the movie was really psychotic and I think the writer is freak. We watched it because our friend gave us a copy, and we even regret that we watched it, can't believe I endured it. I think it's something not new, I kind of think that it's similar to Hunger Games but in a poorly psychotic approach.

Gonna go see Lawrence of Arabia in the movie theater tomorrow, and I've never seen it before. I'm actually really excited.

It actually pretty awful compared to other american slasher films .. its below mediocre level ..

The Expendables (2010) - 6.0/10

Sylvester Stallone was the only one who made this half decent. Having Arnold Schwarzenegger spout catch phrases/references was one of the stupidest things I've ever seen.
Death in Venice (1971) - 7.0/10

Nothing happens in this movie. I still kind of liked it. The scene after he goes to the beauty place was really great.
Robin Hood (2010) - 7.5/10

This was pretty good.
Girls Against Boys (2012) - 6.5/10

Such a cool premise, but the movie is basically a slasher movie that takes place in a house. Wasted potential

![[image loading]](http://www.fangirlmag.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/snowpiercer1.jpg) Holy shit. Fact that it was a horrible movie aside, this just might be the most gory movie I've seen in a long long while if not ever. (or maybe it's just because I don't watch that many movies) Those axemen basically looked like Uruk-hai berserkers and the ending.....oh man the ending...... I was just like "ok, Mr. producer, I get that you're worried about global warming and polar bears, but this ending is just f*cked up."
Apart from that, just another movie about class issue.

Saw Kick-ass 2 yesterday.
Go in just expecting to be entertained and you will get exactly that. It's more like a comic brought to life then an actual movie; A lot of parts make zero sense and the characters fail to show emotions at times when they should. With that in mind, It was very, very entertaining except for 15 minutes toward the end where it is pretty slow.
8/10

Assault on wall street.
I'm a bit taken aback. I expected the film to be about some guy who loses money to the bankers and then goes on an hour long killing spree. For a 1.5 hour movie, they really took their time figuring out how to build the protagonist's descent + Show Spoiler + ...so only the last 20 minutes were the only parts with the actual assault.
There were only maybe two sections of the movie where the protagonist actually talked to someone from the perspective of an imaginary bad guy businessman/lawyer. To see how the rich justify their wealth.
Obviously the idea of killing people for taking your money is not something most people would agree with. Even those who say it's right won't do it. It's obvious the bankers killed had wives and children too.
There really is something wrong with the world and with the economy and capitalism as a system. The division of wealth is too large. That's something I do agree with.

Just saw Kick-ass 2
The writing wasn't great, some of the line delivery was awful, the pacing was off, and the soundtrack wasn't on the same level as the first. That being said; great movie. Good style, good characters -- all-in-all a good sequel to the first.
9/10

A motorcycle stunt rider turns to robbing banks as a way to provide for his lover and their newborn child, a decision that puts him on a collision course with an ambitious rookie cop navigating a department ruled by a corrupt detective.
I enjoyed the movie. I actually think this was a better movie then Drive, though I think the second act of this movie was perhaps a bit too long. But overall, pretty solid, good actors. 7/10

The true story of Richard Kuklinski, the notorious contract killer and family man. When finally arrested in 1986, neither his wife nor daughters have any clue about his real profession.
Stars people such as Ray Liotta, Michael Shannon (boardwalk empire), Chris Evans and Winona Ryder. The cast surprised me a bit. A movie based on a real life mafia hitman, I didn't expect such a star cast.
The movie was also a lot better then I originally thought. Michael acted really good as the calm but sometimes psychotic murdere. And as always, Ray Liotta knows how to act like a gangsta. It was like seeing Goodfellas again ^^
Solid movie IMO. I did some research on Kuklinski after I saw the movie, and a lot of the scenes and scenarios actually happened in real life. It was actually interesting to watch how Kuklinski went from working with porn, killing random people he didn't like, to acting as a high ranking hitman for the mafia. 7/10

Finally saw Elysium, and sadly it's an addition to my list of sci fi disappointments.
The movie combines a huge number of threads while never being hard to follow, but in doing so it fails to develop any of the individual parts into something worth caring about. In lieu of this, the movie attempts to hook the viewer with what can only be deemed "emotional manipulation," formulaic high intensity scenes of injustice or peril acted out by charicatures. To that end, the movie employs such deep, interesting characters as elitist right wing politician, sadistic rapist henchmen, and billionaire business owner who cares less about his workers than about getting blood on his sheets. And those are just the bad guys! The good guys will dazzle you, led by selfless mother and reformed criminal trying to make an honest living.
There is nothing to this movie but mildly decent action sequences and an overdone, in-your-face political metaphor. Extremely disappointing, wouldn't recommend.
