Even though I'm a giant Stanley Kubrick fan I had never seen A Clockwork Orange until a few days ago. His only one i hadn't seen.

I'm such a fool for procrastinating on seeing that. I loved every second of it's disturbingly dystopic ultraviolence...

Ted 3/10
I was expecting a lot more comedy in this Seth McFarlane movie. Instead it's a growing up and learning to be responsible and blahblah movie. A really big let down. There was very little laughter with everyone I saw it with too.

I saw Eyes Wide Shut a few days ago, and it was exhileratingly creepy. Great tension between Cruise and Kidman. Kubrick seems to have a lot of long, winding scenes in his movies but in this one they served sort of an ironic climax which I enjoyed.

Just watched "The Hurt Locker" and i must say it's overrated. It's ok but doesn't deserve the credit it got. It's not a masterpiece at all, more kind of right movie at the right time.
Some stuff was pretty realistic, but there's also some overusage of the documentary hand camera style in some scenes and some clearly visible hollywood set style at the same time.
Acting was very good though and i liked the ending, rest was pretty meh imo.

It's Friday the 13th! What horror movies should I check out? Some of my favorites, to give you an idea of what I've liked so far:

* Session 9
* Nightmare on Elm Street (series)
* Halloween (original)
* Aliens (the first two)
* Saw
* Hostel
* Seven

Because. Why? Simultaneously scary(not in a horror kind of way) as can be, and disturbing. And thought provoking.

7/10. Very unusual.....well done...but......why??

This movie is just a pretentious rip off of Castle of Purity, a Mexican movie from the 70s. It has zero redeeming qualities that I could find. I am offended this movie was even considered for any kind of award, much less an Oscar.

The extent of this movie's "thought provoking" is pointing out that children can be raised to believe lamps are called + Show Spoiler +
pussies
and keyboards called + Show Spoiler +
vaginas
. How deep and intellectual of them. The film wanders off course, not that it has actual direction to begin with, halfway through and becomes a cheap porn, we get to see a cat get hacked apart by garden shears, and then the film ends.

People are praising it on IMDB for being "Sharp, political, satire." That should be a warning in and of itself. This movie only exists for people that want to feel like they are watching something edgy, simply for the sake of being edgy. I felt pandered to.

Maybe it's the audience. Coming from a very, VERY sheltered background myself.....it was quite disturbing and hit me a little bit.

I give Ted a 7/10. Everyone in the theater, including myself, laughed consistently so I guess it just appeals to certain people. I am a fan of his show, Family Guy, so I guess it just felt like watching a live action version of it with different characters.

Does Seven really counts as a horror genre movie? I thought it was more like criminal thrillers?

To the guy asking for movie, watch this:

Prometheus - 4.5/10
      Ridley Scott created a wonderful vision with magnificent art direction, background, and casting... and ruined it with a terrible story and a poorly organized movie. Guy Pearce was also miscast. Nothing made sense, there was no immersion, and everything was just colossally dumb. My cheeks hurt after the movie from laughing so much.

American Psycho - 8.5/10
      This movie is an utter classic. Visually perfect, a great cast, and superb dialogue. Instantly made it into one of my top ten movies. Who knew it was a dark comedy? It's actually not a horror/thriller and is actually a satirical commentary on the Yuppie Movement of the 1980s. Just genius. Christian Bale is excellent.

Jarhead - 6.5/10
      I understand why everything in the movie was done in the way that it was done, but I ultimately didn't like it. That doesn't make it a bad movie; in fact it's very good at doing what it's intended to do. Basically, the movie is like a modern Born on the 4th of July but it takes place during the conflict as opposed to mostly after. There's a giant "netorare" streak in the movie, which makes you pity the soldiers even more, but that also makes your taste for the movie even worse.So I suppose in that regard it's very good. Casting is very fitting too. Welcome to the suck.

Friend works at a movie theater, not gonna say which one because I'm fairly sure it's illegal. They got it yesterday morning, so at 2am last night we got to see it.

I think in our modern age technology has evolved to become more addictive. The things that don't give us pleasure aren't used as much. Work was never meant to be fun, but doing it makes us happier in the long run.

Just saw Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Big Hunter S. Thompson and Terry Gilliam fan, and this made no exception. Pretty original, and extremely funny.

Just saw a mock documentary (or rockumentary ^.^) called Spinal Tap, very funny. 7/10
