I've heard some good things about this, what did you think?
I have mixed feelings about this documentary. I wouldn't call it particularly "good" or entertaining, but, at the end of everything, it is definitely worth watching. For me, the praise "best documentary of the year" is well deserved. It left a thoughtful smile on my face after I finished it.
Exit Through the Gift Shop introduced me to a part of this world (street art) that I had never really paid attention to in the past. The film really grabbed me in, because it follows a man who also unexpectedly makes his entrance into the world of street art.
In my opinion, the best way to watch is to come into this documentary with no expectations. Just let the film guide you through this journey.
Lets just say, whether you love Exit Through The Gift Shop from start to finish doesn't really matter, by the time you finish it you will understand why it gets a lot of praise. The ending is + Show Spoiler +

Movies: - (comedy) Attack the Gas Station (1999) - (comedy) My boss My Hero (2001) - (comedy) The Good, the Bad, the Weird (2008) - (action/crime) A Bittersweet Life (2005) - (war movie) Tae Guk Gi: The Brotherhood of War (2004)
If you like TV series, I'd recommend: - (like 24) Iris (2009) - (like 24) Athena (2010)
Great movie. It lived up to every bit of hype. The 3D looked good, none of the cheesy "let's make stuff pop out in odd places every once in a while so we can double the ticket price."
The Inside Job - Awesome documentary about the recession and gives you an inside peek on how the ppl that fucked over the whole system knew exactly what they were doing and don't give a shit and are laughing about it still to this point
Your Highness - Best comedy I've seen since Superbad. It gets horrible ratings everywhere and I figured to watch it when I was bored expecting a mediocre movie (especially after seeing the trailer), but it was hilarious. If you don't like superbad you can skip this one though.
Hesher - Cynical movie. Very different and pretty good. Has a bit of everything in it, but if I'd have to classify its genre it would probably be drama.
Hanna - I thought this was a cool action/thriller. Not the greatest movie ever but pretty ok to watch.
if you never heard about it, don´t sweat - neither did i. watched it online and wasn´t expecting much, since its an norwegian film made with a budget less than the catering of a normal hollywood production.
But to my surprise i really enjoyed it. found it much better than the recent stuff hollywood has been shitting out.
so if you´re up for a blair witch style movie with a decent script - give it a chance.

Inside job was ok there are better documentaries on the subject(s)
I disliked superbad but highness was pretty funny.
Hanna was pretty dumb tbh
I never post in this thread (and I used to have a blog where I would write a paragraph about movies I've seen recently (and my opinion of the best movies and ratings for everything). Lot of controversy in that thread and lot of work so I stopped doing it. I still keep a list of all the movies I've seen (not counting ones I've already seen, I watch a lot of movies and docs)

I was excited when this movie came out in American theaters last year. I know for sure it's been recommended several times throughout the forum, and you know we're pretty good at judging movies here.
It's free to watch now! It's on Hulu and about two commercials in, Hulu will ask you to take a survey so you can watch the entire movie commercial free. I highly advise it since the survey itself takes less then a minute.
I saw Sex Drive recently, its kinda of a knock off of American Pie (which was a knock off Porky's) i was expecting to be annoyed with these young people moaning about their lack of sex, but was actually quite entertained. I was shocked how fun it was
Speaking of being shocked i saw Xmen First Class, i always thought the 3 X Men movies were goddamn garbage, utter PoS, even the so called good one (Xmen 2) i thought was trash. But the newest one was great, and i am not even a fan or anything.
I don't get why people hate this movie so much. It was bad, but it was never meant to be good anyway. Fun watch, cheap entertainment. I guess people who hate it had way too high expectations of it.
James Coburns character is so gnarly in that movie. Definitely my 2nd favorite Western of all time (after Butch Cassidy..) McQueen, Coburn, Brenner, Bronson and Eli Wallach..just a solid movie all around.
