I goofed, big time.
Bah, spoilers are overrated. Even if someone died, like say Dumbeldore or w/e, I am still interested in how he dies, why he dies - the impact of the death, and all the other nuances that won't be ruined by a single line.

Sometimes it makes things interesting. Watching Fight Club made the whole thing shine in a different light since people already told me Tyler was the narrator, a lot of plot intricacies are seen in a whole new light
I'm hoping to finish the show and then pick up the books since these kinds of intricacies give a story lots of replay value.

I got a big fat spoiler right in the face from google when I was searching something like "Game of Thrones <CHARACTER NAME>" to look if I spelled the characters name right or not...
Which sucks because I was very interested in the storyline of this character and it feels a bit ruined now.

By the way, do we still not know what happened to Benjen Stark? He disappeared when he went out to search for the Royce kid, and that's the last we have heard of him. Do we just assume he is dead?
When season 2 ended with Jon about to enter the wildling city I was expecting him to find his uncle chilling there in a crazy plot twist.

He's still missing with no word from him. His horse came back in season 1, but the other 2 members of the Night's Watch were found dead. Benjen is presumed to be dead.

Why would a Stark Ally help Theon escape after he betrayed them? Maybe he lied about Theon's sister, or maybe they just hadn't gotten to her before Theon was almost recaptured, and they still meet up with her in the future.
Some people in this thread have advanced that he is the Bolton bastard. Since Bolton is north noble family, the saying would make sense.
I'm still not sure who he is anyway.

By why wouldn't people find it odd that a nobleman's son (bastard or not) was just casually mopping the floor of the dungeon?
The only possibility is if Theron was taken by someone who doesn't know the Stark bannermen... but who would that be if they're anywhere in the North (which I suppose is not a given either)?

We don't even know where Theon is. All we know its not the Iron Islands, and the men torturing him weren't northerners. Had they been we can be sure Rob would have known. So basically we can't assume anything, shit, we all sat there astonished that Jamie used his mouth to get out of another situation, when BOOM goes the hand.

I can believe a Northerner would torture Theon without admitting it, if the torture was predicated on sadism and not justice or whatever. Seems pretty sadistic given they were like "what do you want? "I want this". Either way I cant see it being the iron born [given they tried to save him and they clearly didnt capture him] and no other power makes sense.

Hey guys the gif on the first page just reminded me. Have they touched anymore on Grand Maester Pycell when he pretty much did a jumping jack? Was it just because he had sex or is he really putting on a show?
My friends insists it is an act but idn how he could do it all day everyday.

Bolton was pretty chill about the idea of torture/flaying early on when talking to Rob in season 2. It probably runs in his men as well.

That scene is basically an indication that he, too, is playing the political game of thrones. He is just pretending to be weaker than he really is so that the others will not think of him as a threat. He's just "that old senile maester" to everyone else but in the meantime he has maintained power through at least 3 kings' reigns.

Nitpicking, but that was not a white walker's arm but a Wight arm.

Well winter is literally coming, and it has nothing to do directly with the White Walkers. They mentioned it in season 1 when Tyrion was at the Wall talking to Commander Mormont. They talked about how summers and winters last for years, sometimes decades, and this summer was coming to an end and the next winter would be particularly long because this summer had lasted so long. On April 18 2013 05:55 jinorazi wrote: yes, can i get confirmation on this: did sam ser piggy get the word out about white walkers? if i recall when commander asked "did you fly the ravens?" or something like that in episode 1 i think it was, piggy said no in shame or something if i recall correctly, which means rest of westoros dont know about them. According to what Sam said he did not get off any birds. Which considering he was surrounded by white walkers and some how escaped and was running when Mormont saved him, I have no idea when he was supposed to have a chance to send any ravens. They are retreating back to the wall now to warn everyone. Of course who knows if anyone will believe them, since most people consider White Walkers to be a myth. Believing it is a myth or not, if the night's watch tells you that the walkers are back, I think you have no choice but to believe them. Especially considering there's a big amount of crows backing the story + the leader (mormont) I don´t think the nobles of the south will care. They are at war, and even if not they would probably think it was just superstition or lies to get more funding. White Walkers haven´t been seen for thousands of years, why should reappear now, if there ever were any in the first place? There is no way that the kings of the south will send their personal soldiers, riches and supplies north, through an enemy nation, to fight a fairytale enemy. Even if they believe that the White Walkers have returned, they´ll just retreat south, gather their men and food and hope that the White Walkers will kill the men of the north and be satisfied with that. Most characters in the Game of Thrones haven´t shown themselves to be paragons of justice so far, they´re more likely to be petty and selfish. You're right; they don't care. Remember in Season 1? When Mormont sent the White Walker's arm to King's Landing as proof? The response was basically, they have the troops they need to deal with it, leave us alone!
It was an arm of a wight not a White Walker and I don't believe it was shown to anyone in King's Landing, so basically they're still in the dark about what happened at the Wall.

because to me and a lot of other people that havent finished the books its like walking a tightrope. You have to be super careful with what you say here to not spoiler and if you go to the spoiler book thread you might stumble upon spoilers for book 5. Yes, and then we need a thread for people who have just finished book 4 but not book 5. And while were are at it another 3 for people who are just over the middle of each upcoming book / season. Just read faster In general a number of mods watch this thread continuously, so the time spoilers are live here is really really low I think. Actually, I think a thread where you can talk about the books only to the point where we are in the show would be a good thing. A ton of people have requested it, as if you've read the book as far as the show, you can't talk in here. And you can't visit the other thread because its filled with spoilers from the last book. "A ton" is more like a handful. Anyway in the end this is a Starcraft site. We have two threads for GoT already, which is more than we have allowed for any other show so far. It will just have to be enough. And I really think it is.
I kinda agree, but "in the end" you'd be saving yourself a whole lot of trouble too, based on the amount of bans issued in this very thread because of it..
Besides, this has grown beyond "just a starcraft site" a long time ago. People don't come here just for starcraft news or starcraft related stuff anymore. The evidence in the fact that TL also has a dota 2 team and news.

When season 2 ended with Jon about to enter the wildling city I was expecting him to find his uncle chilling there in a crazy plot twist. In addition to this, an open question of who sent that assassin after Bran is still there. We know Littlefinger blamed Tyrion and Tyrion denied it with rather sincere look on his face.

Didn't cersei send him to shut the boy's mouth off?

Yes this is fairly well known that Cersei sent the assassin with Tyrion's blade. Littlefinger didn't 'blame' Tyrion, he just said that the blade was won from him by Tyrion if I recall correctly.

No, this still doesn't make any sense. Why would Cersei equip the assassin with Tyrions dagger? The blame would still be shifted onto the Lannisters. I'm fairly certain it was a plot from Littlefinger to start a war between the Lannisters and Starks, so Ned could die (or be sent to the wall), and he would end up with his beloved Cat.
