If they could keep youporn and my fantasy show separated I would be grateful to them. That's dumb and vulgar. 10 million horny teenage boys disagree with you And the books are full of sex scenes, it's not THAT out of place to be honest plus it's HBO, what do you expect

If they could keep youporn and my fantasy show separated I would be grateful to them. That's dumb and vulgar. What the hell happened with the music at the end? I thought my stream was broken. Is it seriously meant to be?? From wiki: "The decision to place the song at the end of the episode, right after the amputation of Jaime's hand, was made to reinforce the surprise of the viewers: “It’s such a shocking ending and when we read the scene in the books it was so shocking to us. To really hammer home the shock of that moment you need something unexpected. There’s no version of a traditional score that would keep you as off balance as we wanted that scene to leaving you feeling" Well, it was so unexpected that I thought "Oh no a crap advert" and I turned the sound down. Dumb and vulgar? You sound like the 15 y/o virgins you don't want the show to cater to. Graphic exposition is one of the things that make this story (TV or Book) great, whether it be intrigue, violence, or sex. You could easily replace the word "soft porn" with "violence" in your post and it would read exactly the same and be just as ridiculous. It's part of the narrative. It also ties in well with the reputation HBO has, which is probably one of the reasons the network picked up the show in the first place. If it offends you so much, just close your eyes or skip through the naughty parts.

To paraphrase slightly he criticizes Tolkien for not including an large part of many characters motivations and a pretty large part of society, essential one of the main ways the lord of the rings falls short of being realistic (within the boundaries of fantasy). He also goes on to talk about if gore is an important part of the show, it happens on screen, because this series is an adult one, why can the same not be said about sex? You could pretty much make the same case for gore, that it should all happen off screen or with clever cuts and no blood and cut out the sex too, and you have a 12 film. But Martin believes portraying these things are important, things can be implied and shown that wouldn't otherwise.

Not that you're necessarily wrong, but do you realize how difficult it is to hike for miles through cold snowy terrain, camp, get attacked by undead monsters, lose most of your allies, and then have to march back many miles? All this while being out of shape? It's not like he's being a little pussy here by feeling like dying.

But especially the scenes in the last episode were a perfect example on how to do it right, giving us just the right amount of sex and character development. Some of the Littlefinger scenes from earlier episodes though were just kind of awkward.

What i don't get is that with the malnutrition, very cold temperatures and extreme physical excursion every day, how Sam is still that fat after weeks of being in the nights watch, not to mention a good week or so actually travelling the wild. He might not be thin thin but he would of least lost a dramatic/noticeable amount of weight, considering the time frame.

It's often part of the motivation of characters (Jamie+Cersei) and is an important tool in the game (Margaery). It's not really necessary to show it somewhat explicitly, but I don't mind seeing some well-shaped boobies at all. A minute or two per episode doesn't seem like a waste of screen time. Certainly not as much as an intro song that lasts a full two minutes. It might be shocking to some, but it is a big part of the real world too ![]() While sex scenes certainly are used to attract viewers, there is nothing wrong about it. I doubt anyone here would argue that there is no story or that the sex scenes are going overboard (for an example of a show where sex scenes are actually driving the show, see Spartacus; bad series). Without trying to insult someone, but I figure part of the complaints might stem from the fact that some fellow TLers come from somewhat prude social backgrounds. If you are really bothered by naked bodies/sex, then maybe this show isn't for you.
