I'm thinking about not allowing people to talk about episode 2 before it airs this Sunday or not, as the rest of the people who watch it normally won't want to read this thread then, but I'm not sure as it seems a lot of people have seen it and want to talk about it. Maybe at the least it should be spoiler tagged?
I came to this thread expecting to read up on what people thought about Episode 1. Instead, I was completely spoiled by 6-7 pages of Episode 2 discussion which ultimately led me to watching Episode 2 now myself just to keep from feeling left out. I would definitely agree that Episode 2 stuff should be spoilered but I think it's too late for that at this point.

The right way to go, i also think of just staying out if this thread. As much as i want to discuss stuff, i would so hate anyone ruining an episode for me.

But really what bugs my mind is that why hbo do this releasing episodes 1 week earlier politic? I mean they obviously know that for a show like got it will be released on illegal places and all the fans who cannot wait for another week will watch it thus might mean less wievers for the actual release date? That could really reduce the ad income you know. I just don't get the idea behind it? Why do they sacrifice the serious amount of money for more hbo go subscribes or something?

I thought White Walkers are mystical beasts that are non-human? I have read books 2 and 3 and don't recall anything in there that states otherwise (that i remember).

+ Show Spoiler +HOLY SHIT EP 2 WAS INTENSE. Weird question but what is Iron Island's battle strength? Compared to the North's, Lannisters and Renly? And have Renly made an appearance in the 2nd season yet?

+ Show Spoiler + At the start of the war the numbers were roughly North-20000, but they have anywhere from 5-15k possible extra men via their Riverland Alliance Lannisters-30000-35000 Renly-60000-80000 Stannis-5000 The Iron Islands are a bit difficult to place, it's never actually stated, but their strength lies mostly in their navy, not numbers.
Also realize that by now both the Starks and the Lannisters have lost a fair amount of men, where as the other three have not partaken in fighting yet.
Renly should be appearing soon, judging by the shows pace.

Episode 2+ Show Spoiler +No, those are wights. Wights are basically zombies that the Others control. The walkers have been missing for thousands of years. They are a myth. Even the Watch doesnt really believe in them. Or, didn't ... until they saw that one wight. So I guess we can assume that the walkers are goign to turn that baby into a wight. Or maybe eat it. Tender meat, y'kno?

Yep keep everything in spoilers. Not gonna watch it until Sunday.

I see a lot of people in the thread complaining about the introduction of new characters, but honestly I didn't mind. I thought it provoked a sense of wonder. I was thinking, "What is the significance of this?" I don't understand what is going on. Obviously that can be frustrating, but I've pieced it together. As time goes on I'd imagine I'll learn more about these news characters. I thought the 2nd episode was much better than the first, but both were excellent.
Obviously people who read the book have differing opinions, but I did not. I pretty much got the context of the whole scene with the Dragonstone. It was obvious this man thought this woman was trouble, the King seemed rather lost and being manipulated by this new woman. It was made evident the woman was no ordinary person when she knew that dude was trying to poison her and she drank from the cup anyways and lived.
The CGI wolves are pretty cool. I honestly love most of the characters, though I enjoy Tyrion and the Stark family the most. I also think the Dragon lady is pretty awesome too. The Wall's story seems very interesting to me as well and I like Stark's bastard boy very much as a character as well. Forgive me if I can't remember names, I honestly don't remember most of their names because there is so many characters in this show it can be difficult to keep track of.

In a way I guess it's good that it isn't following the book as it keeps you guessing, but at the same time many just wanted to see the books come to life, face it, it's Game of Thrones Season 2, not A Clash of Kings. I get disappointed with them leaving out important events or changing things from the book but at the same time I'm interesting in finding out where they are taking it.
