My thoughts:
- I think that the pace is really slow on this season. Remember that we are already half-way through...only 5 episodes left and so many things yet to happen - Can anybody explain me grammar nazi stannis? I feel I am missing the english distinction between less and fewer...
The pace is actually very fast. The thing is, the story in the books slows down at this time, and I don't think I'm spoiling anything by saying that, but as far as I know, the story has never gone as fast as it is going now relative to the pace of the books.
edit: I dunno, but I watch other TV shows like Better Call Saul, Breaking Bad, Hannibal, Walking Dead, Vikings, etc... And GoT moves at lightning speed relative to any of them. I feel like anyone who is getting bored and thinks it's too slow, is watching the wrong show.
There is just so much depth in everything that happened, just read the GoT wiki, and you will get lost going page to page for 8 hours in all the little details.

I dont think the pace is slow, there is lots of plot development but just not much action. After each episode I feel like there is so much stuff about to happen, with every character, Tyrion, Stannis, Snow, Cersei, Sansa.... everybody!

Just give the books a try. But be warned: At start they are really similar to the show.

Just kill someone important already!
It's like a dubstep song:
But yeah, everything is building up very nicely. At any, with any of the POV characters, a massive event could happen. Lots of development, lots of anticipation.
I've really been enjoying this season so much. Too bad nudity levels go down, as mainstream goes up.
Wtf Jorah .. What the hell are they doing there in the first place? (kinda fell a sleep a couple of times while watching bec I watched it really late) Could they just those rocky islands?. Also Im scared for Jon. the Viking may betray him if he goes with him T_T

If you look at the map of Essos, to get to Meereen from Bravos:
You must go through the Smoking Sea, unless you want to take a big detour south - or walk.
The other factor is that a lot of the time, this might be mostly rumors, and Jorah could have easily thought that it's something very unlikely to happen.
I wonder now that danny will probably fix the situation in mereen if she will move on. Mby have her "husband" stay there in her name and support her financially while she sails to take back westeros.

She needs het dragons back. She wont be able to conquer Westeros with just the Unsullied.

It seems she cannot conquer peasants with unsullied alone :D

I would argue that there is a difference between conquest and the guerrilla war the Sons of the Harpy are waging.
A parallel to what happened in Iraq (which I would guess is no coincidence).

These peasants don't have access to bombs and AK-47s. Much harder to be effective when you have to go into melee vs "best fighters" in the known world.

Modern day insurgents don't have Abraham Tanks, Helicopters and Fighter Jets, Combat Drones and Battleships and Tomahawks.

"The Gulf of Grief"
I think I would steer clear of that personally
And the stone men are absolutely terrifying, that would also keep me from visiting this region lol.
