that damn valyrian steel sure cuts smoothly...

Well considering (if my eyes didn't decieve me), that Brienne's sword straight up broke a sword in the 2nd episode, beheading a man should be no problem. Valyrian steel is so OP man.

As for why John killed him but helped Sam. Sam didn't refuse orders. He did the best he could but couldn't do better. Janos on the other hand refused his commander. John also needed to prove to the others that he is a strong leader. He needed to show that he cannot be ignored. Also Tyrion did not like the murder of the bastards of the former King Robert. Didnt Slynt personally slit the throat of a baby? Tyrion mentioned the murder of the children in the last talk with Slynt when he had him arrested. Another point why Tyrion is awesome and Slynt got what he deserved.

Totally fogot Bri's sword was Jamie's valaryian steel during that scene durp. I have a feeling that's going to bite Jaimie in the ass in Dorne.
Also Sam saved Jon more than once really it would be kinda buggered if Jon had thrown Sam under the bus. He also proved he wasn't doing it to be a dick or whatever by appointing that jerky commander to first ranger. Which also got that guys respect hence him stepping aside for them to kill his lackey.

Valyrian Steel should be the name of a weapons upgrade for human melee characters in Warcraft 2.
I thought Janos Slynt was one of the people who held Ned Stark down to get his head chopped off, nice of him to give Jon the chance for some payback.
There was no way Jon could let someone get away with openly defying a direct order on his first day as Lord Commander, his career would have been over before it started. The fact that he wielded the blade personally has to impress the lads also.

Who is in possession of the valyrian steel sword that Joffrey got from Tywin now? I guess it's Tommen?

Janos Slynt was then commander of the Goldcloaks, the city watch basically, and sat together with Tyrion for some late night food and drink. His actions, behaviour and attitude however made Tyrion appoint a new commander ( in fact before they met for that "dinner" ) in the form of Jacelyn Bywater who then threw Janos out. He just couldn't trust someone like to Janos to be honorable seeing as the Goldcloaks and their commander also betrayed Ned Stark.
Jacelyn Bywater is a book character only, in the show Bronn was made head of the goldcloaks

I could see Varys having secreted it away when he left with Tyrion. I could see it playing a role in an epic battle at the end between whoever survives.

So are the Boltons remodeling the North or something, what was with the construction during that scene?

Nah Theon didn't. He was knocked unconscious after giving his brilliant speech :d Either the Ironborn burned Winterfell as a distraction to escape or Ramsay burned it because he is fucking Ramsay.
|
If you ask me, this is Sansa's chance to go from the character everyone is disappointed with, to everyone's pride and glory. Littlefinger seems to have a plan to get the North back under Stark control and undermine the Boltons. As we've been reminded several times this season, the North will always remember the Starks, which gives Sansa the drivers seat (potentially) to return her country under her control. I truly hope the Boltons and Baelish are killed and the Starks have power in the North, but I have no idea how things will go....

That wasn't Winterfell, Petyr and Sansa arrived at Moat Cailin; the place from which Theon lured out the Ironborn by pretending to be himself.

We all know it's Ramsay for sure, the ironborn were "given" free leave to leave, I doubt they'd burn it and expect to make it out alive (which we know didn't happen anyway).

Yes... that was not Winterfell, it was Moat Cailin. Since season 1 Petyr Baelish is running the show on Westeros ;_;
I can't remember which episode in S4 the Ironborn got slaughtered in Moat Cailin. I think I need to rewatch that

Makes me think that this is one of those series I'll really want to watch a second time after I know how it ends to see what hints were dropped that I missed.

In the weeks before every new season I always rewatched the old ones. Didnt do it this time though, it is a little too long by now.
