Honestly the screenwriter duo is what is holding this show back. They are in over their heads and they know it. As a result all we get are shock tactics, employed for the sake of buzz and the resultant ratings. These latest episodes are full of blood, gore, torture, nudity and chitchats about "twigs and berries", all of which are completely unnecessary and are simply used to cover up poor script writing. Transitions were nonsensical and made me squirm. Developing plots were interrupted with irrelevant scenes discussing the most irrelevant details such as greyworm's genitalia. Peter Dinklage is forced to deliver a stupid monologue about beetles. Utter garbage.
Go back and watch the episodes NOT written by incompetent duo. Whoever you find, you'll notice it is a tier above anything these two can provide. As one of the most watched shows, GoT is the big league, and these screenwriters don't belong in it. It's gotten to the point where I'm watching just to know what happens so I can talk to others about it. My distaste outweighs my enjoyment...
Just go ahead and stop watching then. You'd be doing everyone a favor. And even better yet, stop talking to others about this show you hate so much. No one cares, you're just being annoying.

Isn't it obvious? Of the bottom 75% of the 39 episodes(or to be exact the bottom 30 episodes), 22 were written by Benioff & Weiss. Undeniable proof those 2 are bad writer. Just kidding, it's just a matter of skewing perspective until it fits your bias.
Just consider that mid of the season episodes are boring because they set up things that happen later and climax in the 9th episode usually. The 10th episode then shows the aftermath and throws the hook for the next season. Then consider that 27 of 39 episodes were written by Benioff and Weiss, there is a very high chance that a boring episode is also written by those 2. Because almost all episodes were written by those 2.

Make some good arguments, but stick to the show. Let's not enrage the mods.

why even bother dignifying that with a response

So a person with 0 posts just sent me an inbox message and spoiled the season finale for me out of the blue... I hope to god it's fake and I didn't actually get spoiled because that's 100% bullshit if so. I can't even read my TL inbox messages anymore if that's fucking allowed.
Like I barely try to read this thread sometimes because I'm so scared of spoilers, but now I can't even read a new message in my inbox if I randomly have one. Maybe I should get really shit faced and hope I forget them.

Banning the guy probably doesn't prevent him from creating new accounts. To avoid this, you could disallow PM messaging for completely new users. Also, you probably already block email addresses for new accounts, that at least makes it more cumbersome. Unfortunately, there is no way to block machine access that cannot be easily circumvented.
@Quality: Sure, GRRM is not a Joyce, David Benioff is not a Bergman and the directors are no Kubricks. Sure, the show is more soap opera than anything else and uses nudity, violence and intelligent-sounding dialogue to make up for it. Does it matter? Nope.

Sorry man, but I agree with the "trolls". I mainly watch the show for the acting, nothing else.

Wasn't much about reaction time lol. Literally 5 words into the first sentence and I'm spoiled on a main character.
Oh well, I'll just try to enjoy the finale best I can I suppose.

It seemed really out of character for Tyrion to act like he was retarded, so honestly I'm not surprised lol. That entire scene I was sitting there like "Is this really happening? It feels so out of place".
Then again it actually seemed like a decent bonding moment between Jaime and Tyrion, so it wasn't all bad.

Has there ever been a better lookin fantasy series or movies than GoT? The cinematography alone could keep me watching, and you add in acting AND the possibilty of dragons vs zombies? Really only acting? If tha were the case just watch The Wire where there is no cinematography, no directing, no art stuff, just writing and im kidding the wire is pretty good. But its no xena warrior princess, which is no buffy the vampire slayer which is no x files which is no dr who which is no seinfeld. God im exstatical for this finale. Omg i want to like start up a new futures perfect campaign Cause they gonna use anoher magic trick and reverse time to save oberyne and ygritte right

I don't hate the show, it's the writing for certain episodes that I can't stand. There were 4 really good episodes in this season and I rave about them just as much as I rant about the bad ones.
