Jon even asked to do same with Castle Black. | ||

They need a passway, so let' s assume only Castle black has active tunnels through the Wall, as others said, they need to break that. 2. Mance's plan was to hit it from both sides, and it almost worked, the fighters were busy atop of the wall. If Jon's squad doesnt come to help, it looked like the wildlins could actually take it. But then Jon whipped out some pro fighting skills and Sam let loose Ghost | ||

They know the White Walkers are real, and so they'll probably want to capture the wall intact and man it themselves as a defense. That means capturing Castle Black, the Shadow Tower and Eastwatch-by-the-Sea. It also means completely dislodging the Night's Watch from the Wall. In other words, they have to go the the enemy at some point. Also, as others have already said, the abandoned castle doors have been sealed. That said, is attacking Castle Black directly the easiest way across? No, but Mance's plan was to first place a team on the other side of the wall so that the gate could be raised from either side. And it almost worked! And only a small fraction of his army was lost in the effort. | ||

It includes whole tribes, including old, weak, sickly and young people. Not everyone can just scale the wall. As was mentioned already, it is very likely that the abandoned castles have completely sealed tunnels or no tunnels at all. Think about it: Why do you need to have 10+ tunnels through the wall if you only occasionally send a handful of rangers north? At this point I am considering only Castle Black even has a tunnel. Because at least 1 castle needs to have a tunnel. It's quite ironic that you complain about the logic of the show because the wildlings don't abuse the huge obvious weakspots of open tunnels at abandoned castles that the night's watch must have because you didn't think this one through. | ||

Why didn't all the giants just lift the door and let a shit load of people run through? If 1 giant can hold the wall up by himself, imagine how long 3 giants could hold the wall, probably even long enough to setup something to hold the wall up indefinitely. I don't know, that part was just really stupid to me. | ||

They had no clue how strong the door was dude. Also all the Nights Watch would need is more explosive barrels and boom, another dead giant while he's trying to lift the door. | ||
