Hope things pick up soon, because the atmosphere and the acting is great and theres Lots of great characters. Even in the book it took a very long time to set up all the different plots, but I do believe critics who watched the series say that it picks up around the 5th and 6th episode.
Well thats good, Right now its been like watching a 4 hour movie of set up, and then getting "to be continued" at the end. =D

About halfway through the first book, one everything has been established, shit gets real. Don't worry, you will come to realise how necessary the beginning is. Also, + Show Spoiler +not much happens at the wall until the second book and beyond .

It was another exposition heavy episode, but I enjoyed it. I do wonder how much non-reader's get out of some of the exposition though. There is a lot of back ground given out and not all of it comes across very naturally. The Wall story is better off in that respect because it is mostly here and now.
Glad to see the wolves more prominent. Bran's 3 eyed crow dream at the start was cool, and Tyrion's capture along with the conclusion of the tournament should make for a more action packed episode next week. Samwell is well cast, we got our first official introduction to Hodor, a bunch of Greyjoy background info, and more Littlefinger. Was a bit disappointed that he told Sansa about how the Hound got his burns. + Show Spoiler [change from the book] +In the book the Hound tells her himself, and that is the first meaningful exchange between the two of them where she goes from full fear to a bit of pity/compassion.

Oh my god I love the ending to what just happened!
+ Show Spoiler +The imp got caught by Lady Stark!

I just started reading book four... wtf? Feels like I missed a book between three and four!
BIG SPOILERS: + Show Spoiler +So, Rob and his mom died. Tywin died. Mormoth died before already. Joffery died. Tyrion was imprisoned and escaped. Sansa did escape after all. Jon is the big man in the Night's Watch and Stannis settled down at the wall...WTF

You seem confused. All of those events happened in book 3 . . .

All that stuff happened in book 3, not sure what you mean by feeling like you missed a book. + Show Spoiler [book 4 info] +Book 4 is awkward because it only contains half the characters and adds a bunch of new point of views. Personally I think even spoiler tagging that many critical spoilers that are several seasons off should probably be avoided just to keep from accidentally exposing someone. Or at least identify them as book 2 and 3 spoilers rather than the generic "BIG SPOILERS" warning.

Because they are the knights of Summer, and Winter is coming.

Sounds like you read book 3 part 1 and not part 2, then went and read book 4 straight away.

Its not like anything notable happens in book 4 anyway.

Can't stand Lady Stark annoying as hell.

So happy they finally showed Ghost as well.. was getting worried.
Ghost was the best part of the episode. He looked so awesome. Gregor really underwhelmed me. Hopefully it was just because he was on horseback or something, because he certainly didn't look like a Mountain That Rides. + Show Spoiler +Also hoping that they didn't cut the final scene of the tournament with Sandor vs Gregor. Can't imagine they did, though I did expect them to finish the tournament in one episode
The actor playing Gregor is 7 feet tall, I'm sure he'll look plenty big as soon as he's standing next to someone

Man, this just goes to show why women should never be in a position of power. I havent even read the books, but I can tell that Stark gone crazy over someone hurting her baby is gonna end up royally screwing the entire Stark household.

The 4th episode was a bit underwhelming to me, but that's probably because i picked up book one and read it just before this episode aired. They do get a lot of the little details right though.
Speaking to the books, they are extremely well written. I hope the show can continue to represent them as excellently when the plot thickens.

Lol, "I've seen catelyn stark doing some crazy shit in Game of Throne, that's why women can never be in position of power".

I guess this is the episode where they add a whole bunch of exposition scenes for the benefit people who haven't read the books. I hope that clears everything up for all you haven't-read-the-books people!
Also, Sam isn't NEAR fat enough. Maybe they should have cast an American.

Right conclusion for the wrong reasons.
Edit:Some clarifications: I`m not a misogynistic bastard, What i meant meant was "SOME women... bla bla bla..", More specifically + Show Spoiler + Cersei should not be allowed into a position of power, OR Cateryn`s sister, Or Greyjoy girl You kinda have to be amazed that every women that is into a position of power in GoT kinda screws up badly. Even Cateryn. Releasing Tyrion and Jaime.
HENCE: women should never be in a position of power
and my reply: Right conclusion for the wrong reasons.

this series is amazing. I've picked up the first book after the 3rd episode but I havent had time to read it yet.
Episode 4 was great but I can't help but feel Lady Stark made a huge mistake...
