I loved how in disarray they showed Dexter; so indecisive. They didn't say "this is how he's going to react" and stick with it. It was more of all these different things and approaches and thoughts he had. The only time he didn't seem glazed over and not at a loss was around Harrison and after his breakdown in the bathroom.

I was a fan.

Also: am I the only one that gets teary-eyed whenever Deb's upset? I swear when + Show Spoiler +

she gets upset after cleaning the blood up (and just before the wtf-moment with Quinn. I hate him so much.) and when she visits the parking lot where she and Lundy were shot and breaks down.

I always tear up or cry a little >_>

I'm sorry but if you're reading a thread about DEXTER THE SERIES maybe you should expect spoilers regarding the recent events. This is so stupid, I have to click to read EVERY post? No thanks.

Personally, I don't like the whole "feelings" idea.
The charm and awesomeness of Dexter was his inability to feel. I hope this doesn't grow into a thing now. His stone-coldness seemed so awesome, now it's turning into a "regular show".

This show has always been about Dexter growing into a person that is more human. Over the past 4 seasons he has gradually increased his intimacy with Rita and become more of a dad to the kids. Dexter has been learning how to feel the entire time.

Graaaaaaawr so awesome! Not a fast start to the season, but for obviously, Dexter has so much stuff to sort out. But they're doing a great job developing his character in response to Rita's death. Whee can't wait another week.

No, just joking, but so far it seemed that all his attempts were futile. All he did in this aspect seemed to be fake, struggling, not his nature. I was hoping that he would snap out of it, in fact, that's what I hoped Rita's death would do to him, turn him back into the creep I loved in S1.

does anyone know of an area I can download or watch the first episode unedited? Yidio is blurring out parts and that tends to get really annoying... doesn't seem to be up on itunes or netflix and everywhere else seems to want me to pay a membership... please help, if only via pm

I think it was pretty good. They managed to make it what it "had to be" and keep it interesting at the same time. Can`t wait for the next episode.

I like to think that Dexter is about the progression and development of Dexter, and the first episode fit perfectly into the scheme of things.

the first episode was great. it was really funny seeing rita and dexter's first date. i think quinn is starting to be like doakes, i hope he won't end up like him.

i can't wait for the next episodes, most esp. on the kyle butler hunt, that's gonna be exciting i hope.

I just found this thread (late, I know.. I'm ashamed) so I've added the first season to my Netflix instant queue. Definitely looking forward to giving it a shot.

On a side note.. Dexter's Laboratory (Season 1) will be available from Netflix on 10/12... I noticed there some was love for that show as well ;D

I am confused by the first episode. How does he take care of what happened in the bathroom? There was evidence all over the place, did not do his normal prep work.

Liked it, it was not AWESOME!, but definately not a bad start
