If she really is then it would be the most terrible thing ever. Why? Because she had couple of scenes where she is alone in the house and she looks frightened by the brains and opening gift boxes with brains in them. That would mean she was only acting like that for us, the viewers. Which is beyond terrible and would automatically lower the score of this show by 2 points. it is possible it's already been done before with travis marshall. however it is unlikely since it's already been done. But with Travis Marshall you at least had the excuse that he was absolutely batshit insane with MPS. The scenes where he got screentime "alone" conversing with his alter ego are explained. Vogel acting all surprised would mean she also has some kinda psychosis, which is not explained anywhere at all. She obviously has something up her sleeve, but if she's the brain surgeon the series is just 17x as bad as they've made it so far this season.
It's obviously the boyfriend. He's been getting too much screentime for a completely random dude.

The show is still alright, but it has a bit of the Pirates of the Caribbean plotline problem, everyone and everything has a goddam plotline. And none of them are explored properly, see zach.

I like your version Cheesy enough for Dexter the TV Show and certainly not the worst of all possible (plausible) season conclusions...

Gratuitous sex scene and random-ass dead body. OK episode.
The Deb scenes were meh though All of that for a 30second conversation and a trip back to Miami?

Possibly locked in a titanic struggle for survival with zombie-Trinity.

I think there's a decent chance the Brain Surgeon is Deb's boss. Out of all the "main characters" of this season, he's one of the few that hasn't been cleared (Vogel with her solitary scenes) and isn't established as a normal person (most of the cops, etc).
-He's gotten involved with Deb, could just be a cover because he knows about Dexter and wants to keep tabs on them -He has private eye skills like tailing and lockpicking, which could also be used to set up kills -Has not been seen outside of work save for one occasion, during which time they thought the Brain Surgeon was dead (Yates died the episode prior) and Dexter was focused on Zach. -Willing to let Deb do whatever she wants, when she wants, and use his equipment, maybe to gain her trust -Got rather angry when she quit, possibly because he lost his "in"
There aren't many other characters that could be the killers. Quinn/Angel/Masuka are established as good cops, Jaime is Jaime, Zach's dead, Vogel is unlikely. I don't see Masuka's daughter as the killer, but then again that subplot really needs to go somewhere.

They honestly don't have enough time to wrap up everything they've done this season.
It's too bad, but I can't really see the ending of this show living up to the hype, as diminished as it already is.

I know how you feel... last Dexter's epìsode I found myself fast fowarding most of the scenes, to me is a combination of this show decline and breaking bad come back. kind of sad because I used to love this show but went so downhill to me... :/ I think this is the first time I've actually left my comp without pausing for dexter. Had it on in the background while I like washed dishes and did laundry. Its just not gripping anymore. Still gotta watch the latest episode though.

They've had plenty of time. They've been wasting it with bad writing.

The best shot they have at a proper series finale is a retcon, Doakes comes back and pulls the ultimate "surprise motherfucker" to end all surprise motherfuckers, armed with a detonator-type device in his hand. Then everything goes dark, leaving the series forever open-ended. But at the end of the credits, you see a quick flash, a fast close-up of Vogel's face, and she has cyborg eyes. And they shoot lasers.
Whatever they have planned won't be half as memorable as that.

Whatever they have planned won't be half as memorable as that. Hey you are so funny have you ever considered becoming a comedian? It was written out of anger, after having watched the last episode, more so than me trying to be funny. You certainly 1-up'd me with that one-liner though.
2 episodes ago, I was excited to see Hannah, the last season was pretty decent IMO. They completely botched Hannah's return in more than one way. And now the kid's dead, and although he was not promising, as far as I can tell, he was the last possible way the show could possibly be redeemed in the last few episodes that we have left (although I doubt they would have done anything good with him). Shit, he acted like 5 years younger than his age somehow, it was really annoying.
Also, breaking news, Vogel is probably going to be a bad guy. So surprised.
I'm sorry if I insulted your beloved show with my ramblings about Doakes, but frankly it's the only way they'll make a memorable finale now, that's what I was trying to express. They have to do something completely batshit crazy. If they use the real estate they have now, nothing will happen. At least, nothing worthy of series finale . They have a cesspool of worthless boring characters nobody could possibly care about. You know what we got last episode? Masuka's daughter with her little smell thingy and a little pun about it. It's frustrating.
PS: I loved your post about pornstars without makeup. Someday I'll be a complex and deep individual too.

Simply don't watch the show if you don't enjoy it. I still enjoy Dexter and I don't think this season is as bad as people make it sound.
|
It's pretty bad. No intensity anymore.
I simply continue watching out of a fleeting hope that it redeems itself by the end of the show this season.
|
I'm still enjoying it and my mate's loving this season and the last. It's always had flaws and bad writing barring the first few seasons, but this isn't bad compared to Lumen/the crazy christian. Also pretty sure the brain surgeon is the bf of the neighbour. He went after her to have an excuse to be closer to dexter and toy with him.

Why do I get that crazy feeling that Quinn is going to surprise us with some kind of secret...
|
Well, that's because Quinn is Mecha Doakes !

We're like 5 episodes from the end, I have to keep watching, so I'm trucking through. You can't always just say "stop watching" to solve every problem. I've been watching this show as it comes out for like 6 years, I have a genuine interest in the outcome, yet I feel like the writers are not even trying.
I want to say that I'm doing my best to watch with an open mind. Like I said, I was excited and saw a glimmer of hope when Hannah came back, and yet, they didn't do anything worthwhile with it, at least IMO.
Cheers.
