If she really is then it would be the most terrible thing ever. Why? Because she had couple of scenes where she is alone in the house and she looks frightened by the brains and opening gift boxes with brains in them. That would mean she was only acting like that for us, the viewers. Which is beyond terrible and would automatically lower the score of this show by 2 points.

Dexter is the brain surgeon. His conscience was struggling with the idea of whether or not to kill Zach. One part of him wishes that Zach deserved what's coming to him. The other is the humane side of him trying to convince himself that Zach can still be saved. Cassie's murder was identical to Norma's murder and there are only few people who actually have access to that type of police files. When he failed to kill Zach, he then tried to frame Zach by getting his blood on the scene. It was pretty obvious that someone has to plan his blood at the scene and to do is discretely. This is where the blade under the car comes in. I mean who wouldn't notice a fucking blade under their car door. I believed that Dexter told Zach to put it there so he can collect his blood. However, in failing to kill Zach since Dexter don't remember what he did while in his other state of mind, Dexter took him back to Vogel house like it happened in the episode. After the party, Dexter finally unknowningly killed Zach in the same fashion that the brain surgeon killed his victims. This is probably a crazy theory but it makes for a damn interesting development.

I saw this on reddit and it's better than anything they're going to go with:
"Dexter is finally outed as a serial killer, he barely escapes being captured, and ends up faking his death in the bay with his boat. Fast forward six months later, Dexter has relocated to Cuba, and has resumed his killing. As he is cleaning up a kill room with his latest victim, you suddenly see a knife blade go into his back, you see the blade, you see dexter's blood from the fatal wound, and then a familiar voice says "Surprise Motherfucker!" ... The End"

we think the brain surgeon is cassie's boyfriend. that's the reason why he said he couldn't zach when quinn showed him the picture.
but i love that episode esp. the part where the 3 killers are talking about the body, that was witty.

The fuck, they have to kill the only character that is doing something interesting in the show (aside vogel... but she is already past her prime moment). They were going to be Batman and Robin man.

This just seems too damn likely though. I feel like there's a larger twist.
I don't see why there's so much hate on this season..I feel like it's been decent. At least it isn't Lumen.

She had that because they get sent to her. Did you see the aghast look on her face? Yeah I don't get why people think it's Vogel. What was the point of those scenes in the first few episodes where she gets the brain-ball jars and acts super surprised when no one else is around? Why lead Dexter on a wild goose chase vs the cable dude? Doesn't add up very well. Given the course of the series so far I'm pretty sure the surgeon is someone we haven't met yet and we'll know who it is next episode.
Uhm.. she obviously had to play surprised for the cameras, otherwise we would know it was her immediately

The owner of the donut shop who sold donuts to dexter in early seasons is the brain surgeon.

Thats his point. If she was to be the brain surgeon, why show the scene alltogether? It blatantly fakes out the viewer but doesn't do so properly. You can hide information from the viewer, letting him guess but actually giving him false information is.. (at least in my opinion) not the right approach. Well we'll see.

Man, I actually started taking a liking to Zach this episode. Nooooooooooo

Absolutely right. That's why I am sticking to my idea that Deb dunit.
* She already has one episode where she couldn't remember what happened * She is really f***ed up * Other main characters are even less likely to fit this role. Unless it's really bad screenwriting.
The question is, who was trying to frame Zach. Was it a brain surgeon or a different person? What was his/her motive?
I also came up with another explanation, way more silly, but who knows. Dexters foster father dunit. I mean c'mon, Dexter is talking to imaginary person for how long, past five seasons? It's not healthy. He may have gone full Edward Norton by now, for all we know. And the show is cheesy enough to attempt to pull it.

it is possible it's already been done before with travis marshall. however it is unlikely since it's already been done.

I don't think its Debra either. She is too straight forward. She is besides her recent past the voice of justice more or less. She wanted Hannah to go, but didn't kill her nor did anything to her. I feel like she even could understand Hannah and her feelings towards Dexter. Now accusing her of killing in cold blood and in such a precise way? Besides I believe she is lacking the knowledge to begin with, I really feel that would be very unlike Debra.
What I do agree on is that it is a character that was already introduced to us. They don't have time to introduce a new character elaborate his story and solve the story in the remaining episodes.
|
For me the most important question is: Who will die, Deb or Hannah, because I can't really picture a finally or a great ending with both of them alive.
|
Also, I love how people complained about zac being an awful character and even going as far as to wish he would be killed, and then people complain that he was killed off. My brain hurts.
Have you considered a possibility that it were different people complaining about Zach being alive and dead?
Hurting brains is not good sign. You just might need a brain surgery

Plottwist, Dexter died on the car accident and his brain is just sending the images of a reunion with hannah, a kid that he could actually be a father to, debra finally coming up to terms with him and vogel being the supportive parent even knowing what he is capable off. But everything spirals out of control as he exhalates his unconscious last breath, starting by zach. And this is how the baywatcher butcher dies. Killed by his sister.

I wasn't fond of the Zach character from the beginning, but I agree, the "psycho dinner" scene really made me start to like him a bit (which I guess was the writer's intent before braining him). The whole episode was a bit goofy, which I usually don't like in Dexter, but for some reason I really enjoyed this episode. (I was in a very good mood while watching it though, may be a contributing factor).

I'm thinking Cassie's BF is one of Vogels previous students and is hunting Dexter. Zach was just in the way.
But i have a feeling that Quinn might have seen something when he went looking for Zach that night. I don't think Quinn's character could be capable of killing Cassie.
