You do realize that the hero is supposed to have some kind of flaw, or make some kind of mistake, otherwise there is no tension? No one cares about some perfect-robot-50shadesofgray-level characters. In this case, everything plays out straight. Hannah goes to jail, Dexter doesn't give a fuck, and neither does Debrah. We get to focus on the Laguerta arc. Option B: Deb poisoned Deb. Well it opens up many possibilities. Does Dexter find out? Does Deb tell him? Does she feel guilty? Will he try to get Hannah out? How does Laguerta fit in? Option C: X poisoned Deb. The third party (Hannah's drug-addicted friend??) is involved. In this case, it frees Dexter of hard decisions (Sister vs GF), and it essentially leads to Option A. I think Option A has a 0 chance of happening. Because you would essentially have spent 6 or 7 episodes of Hannah only to get rid of her so nonchalantly. I mean you can make up ways for Dexter going back to Hannah, but it would be hard to justify "I tried to kill your sister but I love you!!!" kinda shit. Option C isn't very enticing either (although more so than A). Dexter would still feel bad for Hannah and he would probably try to get her out of that situation. And he would want to save his ass. There is no real conflict here, no real hard decision to make. Option B is clearly the best option here. Deb wanted Hannah gone. She seemed really into finding shit about her. From this week's episode, we realize that she would do anything to get her away and protect Dexter from her. So there is a motive and a (somewhat smart) plan. The plan works. Now Dexter is conflicted. Deb or Hannah? Deb is his sister, she loves him, she wants to protect him. But she also lied to him and made him turn against the only woman that truly understood him. There is a conflict!!!!! A real tangibile decision actually has to be made. And on top of that, he has to fucking save his ass from LaGuerta! Now tell me that isn't a great season finale. PS. Sgt. Doaks comes back and kills LaGuerta. (sorry for the spoiler) | ||

Plus Hannah reacted so much better under the pressure, even if she had actually poisoned Debra, at least she tried to save the relationship she had with Dexter instead of crying like a baby and staring at him like it's his fault she's on the bed. Bonnie and Clyde would sit well with me for final season, otherwise the show should probably end with Dex killing Deb and getting caught. | ||

When she was two timing Anton and Quinn , she was messed up and she ended up telling Anton. Deb ended up doing the right thing, something a manipulative bitch wouldnt even consider. Deb is taking anxiety pills cos she so stressed over the news that her bro is 1. a serial killer 2. she may be 'in love' with him so that is messing with her head ( Dexter explained it away really well , that it is natural given their history and she is just confused/highly stressed) Hannah on the other hand has proven track record of being a manipulative bitch: 1. She ends up manipulating Sal Price to kill him 2. She manipulates Arlene to help to kill the counsellor and goes and visit Arelene to tell her to 'stay strong' as Hannah will 'work something out'. | ||

The whole setting and the victim points to Dexter in the way that the guy that got out of jail was part of the killing of his mom. He was just a random bad guy that got out of prison. That must happens numerous times a day. Whats the chance that the BHB (if its not dexter) chooses him out of all other badies that walk out of prison during that time? | ||
