Obito is in some way related to a lot of the most important characters right now - Sasuke's clan-relative, Kakashi's teammate, Minato's student, and was just like Naruto. Having Tobi be some random dude we never saw before would have been more of an asspull, I think. I didn't expect Tobi to be Obito, but I liked how that surprise hit me, and if it were just some person, he wouldn't have had those connections to all those characters. Since we know his history and connection with these characters, we can sympathize with him, but at the same time we'd never do what he's doing, so we'd hate him too. I thought that was extremely good. | ||

I thought that was extremely good. The connection is cool for the plot but it completely blown the feeling that kakashi's gaiden has given. It was also the start of everybody being alive. For me it was not worth. Just imagine asuma being revived completely after having a dramatic and effectively saddening death. That was what i felt when kishi revealed tobi to be obito. It was idk unlikable. Of course that is just my opinion. | ||

I honestly hope we see them both kick Madara's ass, and after they settle things down have a "final battle" between them, mainly to see who is the strongest (and fight for seat of Hokage). | ||
