Kakashi vs Kakuzu Sasuke vs Deidera Pain vs Naruto Pain vs Jiraiya. Sasuke vs Naruto ro1 Naruto vs Gaara Naruto vs Neji As much as I don't like Sasuke as a character he certainly has a flair when he fights. Kishimoto is pretty damn good at the fights but his plot tends to be all over the place | ||

I don't get how this has turned into some 'Gandhi peace shit', uh they've been trying to avoid war for quite some time now. 'hate begets more hate', not just Gandhi...but I mean naruto has always been about the philosophical out look on being a ninja and what the 'way of the ninja' is. This stretches all the way back to when they were against Haku and Zabuza. You might not like how the direction of the discussion has gone, nor feel like Naruto is the proper medium for such a discussion, or narrative i guess in this case, but it's been there the entire time. So i'm not sure if you guys are mad at Naruto's conclusions, or the fact that the issue is even brought up... | ||

IMO he has the coolest abilities, he seems to be innovative, intelligent, a bit too emo but not without reason (also remember that he is what 16? 17? right now), great fighter, highest mastery of sharingan (except Madara but we haven't seen much of that besides the de-materializing thing which I do think is a sharingan ability), and conflicts/personality that I can relate with better than with Naruto the bumbling idiot who is turning into a pacifist and future 40-year-old virgin. | ||

I'm saying that it's turning from medium-level pussy shit (everyone crying at deaths and at working hard and at inter-personal relations and a puppy-love type crush scenario on top of a best-friend conflict emphasis, into a high-level pussy shit plot because now Naruto is taking a beating in a manner similar to Gandhi who refused to fight back. Notice how I said "Naruto is turning into..." It's literally what I meant, Naruto the character is getting that like "stop the hate man just beat the fuck out of me and don't hurt my friend, I am such a selfless mature being hurrr" attitude going (not disrespecting Gandhi, just pointing out the parallel). Although you could say via transitive property that since the show is pretty much about Naruto (hence the title?), then his turning into a hippy makes the show turn into a hippy show too. EDIT : God I am high. | ||

I think the reason people generally hate Sasuke is that he gives the impression that he's the only person in the world who has had it rough in his life. That and Madara is quite easily manipulating Sasuke into doing what Madara himself wants. Also he's angsty and I personally hate angst a lot. I like it when Sasuke fights though, he shows innovation and intelligence generally only seen with the bad guys.... though I guess Sasuke could be considered one. Kishimoto likes to desolve peoples intelligence to suit the plot lines and that's really annoying. Naruto showed some major insight during the fight with Pain and now he's nearly completely regressed into the bumbling fool he was before... instead this time he's not going to sell out a "friend" who put a chidori through his chest because "hate begets more hate." Blah.. blah... Blah. I'll finish just to finish I suppose. | ||

I completely agree with the points you bring up, but like I said people can relate to that (I think) - "every man thinks his burden is the heaviest." Madara is clearly using Sasuke to do what he wants but if you pay attention to details (Madara recently popping up to Sasuke from doing what Sasuke wants, Sasuke always plotting things for his own ends and not Madara's, etc.) it makes it obvious that it's not a mental control, it's more of "I am stronger than you and I want to use you so I am going to" control that has a tendency to be broken in Animes including Naruto. That is also true, but it mostly happens to Naruto. With almost every other character I see a linear progression in terms of abilities/intelligence. | ||
