No idea who Tobi could possibly be. Every theory I've read is either pure speculation, or has glaring holes in it. It's important to note that it's somebody Madara actually knows. Also curious how they're going to defeat the Madara summon. He seems pretty fucking invincible, and Naruto is low on chakra. My prediction is that they'll win in 1-2 chapters, but the Tsuchikage will end up sacrificing himself (but not before giving a speech to Naruto and Gaar about the "younger generation" haha). I don't think any good guys of note have died in this war yet, and he's the perfect character to kill off: (1) he's a kage so he's very important to the ninja world, (2) readers won't be upset because he's old, and (3) it's kind of poetic since he has a history with Madara. Basically same formula for killing the Third Hokage. | ||

Who else does Madara know in this manga that was alive in his time (such that he'd know who was responsible for this)? Also, who else is genetically powerful enough to do everything Tobi did? Unless the writer suddenly creates a new character (which I doubt at this point in the manga), I'm calling that Tobi is definitely Madara's brother, and was just acting the part because he's so related. | ||

So somewhere along the time when he achieved his goal of getting the rinnegan from adding hashirama's DNA to his Eternal mangekyo sharingan, he died. but not before he met Nagato as a young child and somehow gave him the rinnegan. | ||

Taijutsu users are useless because people can summon humongous beasts and shoot goddamned energy beams (tailed beasts), ridiculous elemental stuff (almost everyone that is worth a damn), and freaking meteors. An Uchiha can just use amaterasu and the person is pretty much fucked. A goddamned kage lost one of his arms permanently because Sasuke looked at him funny. This is so ridiculous. | ||

There's 1 taijutsu technique (if you can classify it as one) that still has.... some merit in using with all these ridicilously overpowered (non-logical) jutsu's and powers running around. Remember, the eight gate? It's said that you obtain such power that you are pretty much immortal for a short period of time, with unlimited strenght, speed etc. etc. Granted, you die afterwards because of the immense energy/power you release, but it's not like dying matters anymore at this point, you can even get "revived" and be stronger then when you were alive. Wheter the release of the eight gate can still do something against all these jutsu users, I don't know. But to decide on that you need to look at facts and use logic to see if it can hold up against what we see being used here, but... there's a problem in doing that. One shouldn't try to bring logic and reason into this manga anymore, because doing that on itself is a unlogical and unreasonable thing to do. ^ ^ So I think it's safe to say that Kishimoto has caught alot of the readers into a blissfull illusion where the Naruto world still (somehow) makes sense and the story isn't filled with gaping holes left and right.
