Beerus would say stop screwing around and finish her. I also think Goku is pretty good at not using his full power, so yeah he was probably not near his full power of SSBlue this episode, even if it is really confusing and dumb.
The problem is how they wrote Goku's character. Whenever he doesn't shit stomp people they just say "he likes to hold back". So it will become fine that he seemingly did no damage when he blasted Kale in the face because he was "holding back".
This feels a lot like 18 body slamming Vegeta in the Android saga. Oh look, this incredible transformation that was a game changer before doesn't amount to much more than a warm-up for some new opponent. I smell a transformation coming. And tbh, it might not be Goku who has it.
This episode wasn't too bad. I gotta agree, we got robbed of a Jiren vs Hit fight. The whole SSJ2 powerup from Caulifa, not a big deal imo since they showed her doing it before. Goku saying she may go SSJ3 was a bit much. Kale going on a rampage was great, needed to do more though since as we know, she was targeting Goku for most of it.
Her taking a full kamehameha wave from SSB was something I frowned upon because cmon, what the hell lol. SSB is close to the gods' level yet she continued walking. You can argue that Goku wasn't at full power and sure, no Kaioken. We also did see him increase the power once but ignoring kaioken, he was already at full power (or looked like) when he did the increase so I think this, much like the SSJ3 bit, was a bit much. Then of course, Jiren with the single attack takes out Kale even though she was a bit unguarded. It really made SSB look petty seeing as Goku could barely do anything while it seemed like a joke to Jiren...
In the manga the biggest weakness of Blue is that even the transformation alone uses up far too much energy to carelessly go into the form (this being the main reason Vegeta got completely trashed by Hit). Meanwhile in the anime, this is a complete non-issue and Goku probably considered going Blue to take on possessed Roshi.
Big issue right now is the fact that we really don't have a solid definition of blue. Ultimate power control (they directly said it was this) or instead somewhat of a mega super saiyan with really fast energy drain (they also said this). It honestly feels like it varies.
Regardless, Goku has been made to look deficient and I can't imagine that lasting unless Gohan is about to get some kind of complete madness bullshit transformation. But no matter how you slice it, Blue has become somewhat dated at this point and it is hard to imagine Jiren being bothered by Blue.
Perhaps Goku does some kinda 100x KK in blue? I was starting to wonder if the fact that Beerus shit his pants when Goku went 10x kk blue means that a 100x kk blue would be enough to beat Beerus. Perhaps having a power that high ends up inducing some kind of god form in Goku? I can imagine a scenario in which Goku kind of stumbles upon a new form on accident as a result of hitting some insane energy level. I would buy the idea that Goku 100x kk blue would beat Jiren.
Well, Zamasu arc is done in the manga. Less powerups, different kind of bullshit, quite a bit shorter. Better than the anime, arc still weak at the end, more Pilaf plz.

At the end of the day, you simply can not have a villain which is immortal unless the objective is eliminating the immortality. I really just don't see how this arc ever could have gone well. Doomed from the start.
What gets me is that they teased doing that in the anime, and changed tack and made him some weird omnipresent shitbag instead. They had the chance, and wanted us to think they were taking it.
they could had find a way to seal him i guess. Still the manga was way better executed, and Blue actually has been the same since it appeared in the manga.
My favorite part that was manga only was when Goku managed to use Destruction on Zamasu. The idea that he's starting to broach GoD levels and can just make someone disappear is really cool to me.
