One Piece is an extreme time commitment and i only watched like the first 100 episodes, but it's probably the best there is. In general i would recommend to also watch other anime though, there is a lot of good stuff out there which isn't about fighting ![]()

The problem for me is that some of the movies I've seen had English titles, and I don't remember them or can't find the Japanese equivalent.

I never thought the start is mediocre, but some people do. One Piece anime is as dragged out as it gets, it wasn't always like it so you might not feel it for the first 400 or so episodes, though they were doing lots of fillers then. I wouldn't recommend watching the anime, but the manga apparently is a lot better so if one doesn't mind that it's probably better to read that.

For me, it is more so that a lot of anime feels kinda random and Shonen stuff gives me a continuous story that builds and builds. TBH DBZ is the perfect example of what I am talking about. The whole idea of: Turns out Goku is a saiyan --> really strong saiyans come to clean up the job he was supposed to do as a kid --> eventually run into the guy who rules over saiyans and who killed his people --> transcend into a super saiyan Was a really good story for me. It was super cohesive and continuous and it all felt like a great progression. Evangelion had that too. Yeah one piece might be right choice for you then, there is a very clear path of power, and powering up which is insanely well made.ALtho it does get really adventure like with all the traveling and stories happening.(starts out that way) With how Pirates work and the government + the Ranks of their Fleet people you kind of have that DBZ like power progression. It is pretty time intensive tho and takes time to get into it, but once you understand more of it its really good. It wasn't that good until you reach the Arlong Park arc imo.

The one piece manga keeps getting greater and greater! If you like action shounen One Punch Man and 7 deadly sins are the "new" hot stuff. (to be honest, I've never actually watched those animes, but I read the manga and it's great!)

They give the impression of being the unfortunate result of a long, brutal, messy war. They consider themselves some kinda victims of those two shows because they have gone on for so long. They just want it to end. They don't even like the shows anymore. One of them finally got peace with the end of Bleach. They have both told me to not even touch those 2 shows with a 10 foot pole lol

Also been reading attack on titan, but I'm like 15 chapters behind atm.

So nowadays i just read it.

I don't know if I would recommend all of them simply because time is not kind to some, but when I watched them, either online or on TV back in the 90s/00s, they were amazing. Pick a choopse a few that you might think you'd like and hit MAL for synopsis and rankings/ratings. I'd recommend Shadow Skill, Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040, and Shaman King. Shaman King might be closer to what you're looking for. The other 2 are just really good. Dubs are the only way to watch these.
