I like Jiren exactly because he doesn't need much to stand out other than a fighter who is way beyond everyone else. No crazy evil plan, no evil personality etc

"Ultra Instinct" is just the fan translation, I've also seen it translated like "Automatic Movement", it's basically the idea that Goku's body is reacting on it's own without Goku needing to think about it. Episode actually lived up the the hype, I was surprised and impressed. Can't wait to see Hit vs Jiren now XD

I really liked the episode. Next episode seems really good too. I am not sure how the tournament will finish though. If were expecting huge episodes here to really push out the strongest fighters that we can see in the next few, then we might end up with a situation where a goku/jiren/hit/vegeta might be the only strong fighter in the arena afterwards, making the rest of the fight kinda bland?

No idea, but definitely looking forward to more now

Given our time:episode ratio, I'm kinda confused what in the world is going to happen these next 25 minutes. I'm assuming Goku is able to do that form again, more naturally, where it lasts longer? Kinda like freeza with his golden form?

Though on a more serious note, that was seriously worth the wait. If there was one thing about this series that always interested me, it was the lofty goal of mere mortals approaching the level of gods. And now some of them are starting to shit their pants.

Freeza gives Goku energy. Goku slimes off to recover some more (5 minutes). Gohan taps into something beyond Mystic vs Kale. We're also missing 4 fighters still for some dumbass reason.

Why not just go with the title and call it Awakened. To me it makes a lot more sense giving that he's reached a level that the GoDs have trouble reaching (most of the universes fighting anyway). It's even caught the attention of the Grand Priest.

Yeah for some reason I didn't like that scene. I enjoyed the special though, fun to watch. Hoping Vegeta gets to do something badass soon.

best dragonball i've ever seen in a long, long time.

i expect jiren and toppo to fight hit / freiza / invisible guys / vegeta for the next couple of episodes, while goku recovers.
something will happen that let's goku go into the new state on his own, or a slightly different state (like god --> blue).

i'm not even sure goku will defeat jiren in the end. but no matter who wins, he will revive the other universe or even all universes

It was a nice double episode and next week's episode with Hit vs Jiren is pretty hyped up too. I'm wondering what they do afterwards since there are still a lot of filler characters still around. Outside of Jiren/Hit/Goku/Vegeta, I think Freeza and possibly Gohan/Kale/hidden fighters might do something special. Of course, Gohan has been a jobber for too long and the other universes have mostly disappointed.

At this point I think Jiren is probably not going to be outdone as best warrior but he will be beaten by attrition. The clown man thought they could just take out Goku and demoralize their opposition; clearly that didn't happen nor would it have worked. Now that Jiren is on the move everyone is going to work to take him out, and between Hit, Vegeta, Freezer, and Goku, they might be able to wear him down after a while. The characters weakened so far have had breathing room to recover; Jiren will not if he continues to be the center of attention.

Toppo and Dipshit look like they would be good targets for your Gohans, Cauliflas, Kales, etc. Gohan vs Toppo might be a decent match; both are pretty dang strong but weaker than Blue. Dipshit had his time in the sun, now he's just a sidekick that will get beat by sidekicks.

Notice that Beerus looks significantly more worried than any of the actual U7 warriors. Freezer and Vegeta still seem to be taking things mostly relatively chill rather than showing any signs of worry. That suggests to me that there's some means that they can think of to take the generic buff fuck down.
