So many scenes that were constantly being reused my goodness.
DBS sure is aware of the quips people were making over former dragonball series though. -By now we've had the marron joke -The time joke (48 minutes taking ages) -The why do we let people powerup joke Etc.
I'm still of the opinion that dragonball super rushed into this tournament of power. Half the contestants and half the universes are completely bereft of any depth and it shows in the manner that universes are being fodderized in.
I still think it was an enjoyable episode nonetheless. Vegeta not being able to punch something that ugly was the best moment in my opinion, considering how many planets and weird aliens he has killed.
As much as I love DBS majin Vegeta was easily the most badass character of the entire series and gave me goosebumps. DBS has yet to do that and give me that same feeling.
What makes Majin Vegeta the best of DBZ? Vegeta is my favorite charactr but I've never thought about majin vegetta as the best thing, not that I dissagree with it, I'm just wondering. Is it because of the betrayal? Or taking the rilvarly between him and Goku to the extreme?
I was annoyed by Majin Vegeta. He had made this progress into being a more even keeled character from the evil mofo he was before then they turn around and have him massacre a bunch of people just to fight Goku at probably the worst time. Was just a little too over the top.

I think it's because his speech was pretty impactful and it made you feel like Vegeta truly cared about getting stronger etc... The Goku vs Vegeta rivalry was getting heated each episode and when Goku finally died, it looked like it ended. Vegeta obviously realized that he'll never get a chance to challenge Goku but presented with such an opportunity, he wasn't going to waste it either. Once he realized that Goku's time is limited and will be gone soon enough, he leapt at the opportunity. I'm not sure if I'll call Majin Vegeta the best of DBZ though, it was just showing Vegeta back in his original mindset when he first came to Earth. The whole Babidi freed me was just a ploy for him to fight Goku. Regardless, Vegeta as a character had some of the best growth in the whole show so I agree there at least.

Thing is, sure, he's made progress but he never got over the fact that Goku was always passing him. In his eyes, honor was the most important thing even though he had a family by then. Presented with the opportunity to finally fight his long time rival, he decided that this was his only chance. It was only towards the end of the Majin Buu arc that Vegeta finally overcame his old self and became the person we see in DBS today. Yes, the massacring people was a bit over the top but I'm not sure how they could've forced Goku's hand if he didn't go to the extreme. It was the only way for Vegeta to actually force Goku to fight him. Of course, if this didn't happen, then no majin buu either so it was part of the plot but from that perspective (honor more than all), it kinda fits.
Did not like Majin Vegeta at all. Personally, I was disappointed in his decision to let himself be artificially powered up.
Edit: I think it is also fair to acknowledged that Goku being able to train in the afterlife was totally OP. Not ever running out of ki is ridiculous and obviously completely changes the way someone can train. It is no surprise that Vegeta got totally left behind.

well, sure, if you look at it from the SSJ3 perspective but before that, Vegeta already got left behind in the Cell saga which is when I would say things "ended between then" with Goku being the final victor.

Think that sums it up. I felt that unbridled rage from Vegeta. He was willing to do anything and everything to get his vengeance against Goku for what he felt was an unfairness in the world that we've all felt at some point ourselves. Then at the very end he realizes how stupid he was and becomes the ultimate martyr in the saddest moment of the entire series.
That's not how I saw it. What I saw was this: Vegeta knew all along how much crap the whole Saiyan bloodlust is and was and what would come of the Majin experience. He could see it from the beginning and was quite in control the whole time - but the nature of the race is that in pursuit of greater power, they're willing to throw all caution to the wind. Goku is exactly the same in every situation that a decision along those lines needed to be made, Vegeta is just more blatant about it.
I finally got around to watching the last episode. It felt very filler-ish. And it's still mostly universe 7 eliminating other fighters with universe 6 getting a few two episodes ago. The other universes are eliminating maybe 1 or 2 fighters when it's their turn to shine before universe 7 smacks them down.
