oh ok, thought i was smart, thank you
oh but the first part is true maybe?

i should reread everything or maybe watch the anime

The story about the miner is meant to show the mystery of the wall, and that people who ask too many questions disappear. I don´t think the miner himself is important to the story beyond that.

am i the only one who cant remember what miner you guys are talking about at all?

unless you're talking about a different miner, the story was just meant to show that they are completely surrounded by the wall and that people disappear went they start to learn too much

and with this entire conspiracy surrounding the walls, I have this foreboding feeling that bertholdt / reiner's "hometown" / people at some point become the good guys...

Is this "miner" some anime-only addition? I have no recollection of it.

Yes, it was revealed in a long wall of text during an episode of the anime.

I guess I should watch the anime. Where does the anime end?

The miner is the eye catch wall of text of episode 25.

Hey guys, finished the manga just now after being tired of waiting for new anime. The series reached new heights for me when Reiner was revealed as the armored titan. My brains were all over the wall, really. I haven't had this many mixed feelings about a character in a long time...
Was Ymir showcased prominently in the anime? I can't really remember her. It was clear to me she was a titan when they suddenly started to talk about her and the historia flashbacks. I also feared for Reiner's life when they were in the Utgard castle and they were talking about some canned herring.

So there was some lost language that only Ymir knew because she's way older than she looks? Reiner is surprised but doesn't fear shit because he's a titan.
Another thing I'm a bit confused is the crippled titan in Connie's village. The ape dude attacked and turned them all to titans but that one titan was a cripple who knew Connie before he left for the military training, right? Then he said "welcome back" to Connie when he was the only one within earshot.
The ape guy has some sort of unique (for now) ability to change humans into titans that can operate during the night.
Does anybody have thoughts about Reiner's rant before his reveal as the armored titan? http://www.mangareader.net/shingeki-no-kyojin/42/24
He seems to be full of regret and I think it implies him to been a human before with the flashback where Ymir eats one of his loved ones.

The question is how do they know that Eren has this power??? pretty obvious now final boss will be eren v the orang utan titan! I joke. But i guess everything will be revealed soon. All titans are originated from normal humans ( the villagers from idiot Connie all turned into titans), the key thing here is that whether the titan was ordered to attack to human or not (some titans just wonder mindlessly out there but some will actively look for humans), presumably those who attacks humans are due to the boss orang utan titan who gives them the orders.Ymir is one of those odd ones that turned back to human form after X period of time wondering in the wild as titan (assuming that she didnt get order/influenced by the orang utan titan), while there is another party of 'neo-titans' like Reiner/Annie who train and develop their special powers since they were young. My another wild guess is that Reiner/Bertolt needed to fuck up the walls 5 years ago must have something to do with the survival of their party, could be an overwhelming amount of titans attack their base and Reiner used that attack to lure the titans away from attacking their base.

Well it was pretty obvious from the chapter itself and I'm surprised that people didn't either get it immediatly from reading, or from discussing it here immediatly afterwards.
