There was a rerelease in 1997 of the original trilogy for the 20 year anniversary that retouched and restored most of the films' scenes, and even added a few that were cut from the original (I believe the Han and Jabba scene on Tatooine wasn't in the first 1977 release). That's actually the version that most people have seen, not everyone has seen the original one from 77. Thrawn Trilogy is the defacto gateway into star wars EU for most people so it only really makes sense for that trilogy to be episodes 7-9 however tbh what series would you go to as episode 10 or further on. After Thrawn there is a lot more dissent about what series are good, with the only real consensus being on x-wing series which is too long for a trilogy of episodes, but lets wait for some more info on 7 tbh | ||
