I'm gonna try to make this post spoiler-free but discussion can lead to spoilers later on. So for the courtesy of others, please include spoiler warnings
Has anyone seen this movie yet? It's out across Asia and on torrent (horrendous quality, though) and is supposed to be Jet Li's last wuxia film. This means that it's the last film he'll have depicting some time from China history (like for Hero (ying xiong), it was set during the Qin Dynasty, "Fearless" or "Huo Yuan Jia" is set during the beginning of the 1900s).
For those of you who are not familiar with the movie or the person that Jet Li is playing, here are a couple good links to start off with: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Huo_Yuan_Jia http://www.fearlessthemovie.com/
The fighting scenes were amazing, some were longer than expected and were just spectacular to watch. I'm not much of a movie critic, but I was impressed with Jet Li's acting ability. This is definitely a must watch for anyone interested in these wuxia films. I don't know if you'd still enjoy it if you dislike the genre, but I just personally felt obliged to watch this since it's his last wuxia and all.

i love jet li movies.. do you know when it will be coming to the us?

Well, torrent is out on major torrent places (torrentspy.com, piratebay.org), the biggest problem is that the only versions out there have really crappy quality. Also, there are subs out, but they are direct babelfish translations. They are probably only useful/almost correct 15% of the time (for example, when "Huo Yuan Jia"'s name is said, the sub writes it as "HUO an AN", etc.).
But if anyone still wants the subs just ask and I'll upload onto YSI.

damn that link you showed was pretty sick. Maybe its best to wait for a good version?
hey? isn't that the movie where he is raised as a dog or something? caged and stuff?
or whats the movie about?
oh and jet li's hero was really good
No, the dog one was Unleashed.
Wasn't it Danny The Dog ? Or maybe we get an other title here ^^)
This movie looks sweet (waiting for the DVD -_- )
It just came out over Chinese New Years in Asia.
Simply amazing.
Probably his best martial arts movie since the Once Upon a Time in China series.
Don't watch the trailers, it'll spoil major plot details. It's one of those movies that's best enjoyed if you have absolutely no background knowledge.
Interesting, I'll have to watch it .
Why is it his last wuxia ? He's making other films though right?
i saw it.. jet li's acting was very good in this movie. i personally like his older non-american movies because they're just simply better than the recent hollywood bullshit movies he was in (cept romeo must die, love that movie off)
I don't know why it's his last wuxia, I've heard he's going back to China to train again, but I've also heard that he's still making modern films (which I don't really like ). Haven't done research on it yet though to find out the answer.
But anyways, the basic plot of Fearless is basically a biography of a Chinese fighter from the 1900s, where China's morale was ruined because of the opium wars, and with a few countries coming in and claiming territory and stuff like that (Imperialism issues).

Except that Bruce Lee was in Fists of Fury. Unless you are refering to Fists of Legend.

For those who didn't know, this movie will be Jet Li last fighting movie. I've seen it 1 day before Chinese new year which was on the 29th of january. It's very good IMO + Jay Chou singing the theme song for his idol( Jet Li).
This movie is highly recommended. *hint* you get to learn a lesson from the movie.
During an interview with Chinese newspaper Nanfang Daily, Jet Li said he would no longer making any more wushu movie because, what he wanted to say about wushu through movies had all been said. There was nothing more to say about wushu, in another word, he could no longer show wushu on a higher level. But, he would continue doing action movies and kung fu movies. His words were misinterpreted by the media. He said action, kung fu and wushu were three different concepts. His The Tai-Chi Master was a movie about a man reaching a new state through wushu. Action movies, as well as kung fu movies, only took the form of wushu.

jet li also played an apprentice(chen zhen) of huo yuan jia in a movie called "legend of the fist" back in the mid 1990s, it was a good movie too.

This movie looks as if it has more potential than Hero.

"Hero" was a terrible movie, so was "House of Flying Daggers".
This one seems good because it actually has a decent plot.
Is it in mandarin or cantonese?
qwert qwert that isn't even the torrent is it -just the subs? I needs the torrent!

While I was watching the movie, I coulnt help but to notice his hairstyle. Is that for real? Did he really shave his head (half-way) to shoot the film? Can somebody explain to me how its done? Thx in advance.

Oh nice, this has me very interested, is it coming out in north america? When?

Of course he could not have possibly grown his hair to that length, so most likely extensions or something. As far as how it's done, is it really that hard to figure out? Just, shave head to certain point.
It's not actually a 'Chinese' hair style. It's a style forced by Manchurian conquerors when they established the Qin dynasty. And it's not a 'warrior' haircut by any means. Basically, they shave the front part and keep growing the back part -_-. Ironically, Most people can not afford or be bothered to keep the front part as shinny as Jet Li in the movies. Traditional Chinese hair style looks pretty much like the traditional korean or japanese hair styles :/ not that surprising really.
Totally irrelevant facts but i thought you might want to know :/
This movie is based on the life story of the main character's master in the movie 'legend of the fist' (which both jet li and bruce lee starred in, two different versions tho).
Another irrelevant fact: the real huo yuan jia's descendents actually sued Jet li for his inaccurate portrayal of the character -_-.
Looks good, but one question .... where are da guns!
Anyone kind enough to re-up the subtitles? I wanna watch with friends but alas, no titles.
