My favourite line this episode. Also, Donna and Harvey make a ridiculously cute couple. Or they would.

Donna 'You need me to stop you from doing things like this' and when Harvey tried to pull the piece of paper away, she added 'in the future...'. So good She's not good, she's Donna. It's just his old acceptance letter even though I don't have a clue why he would show her. Maybe to show he wanted to go to Law school but his chance was denied because of the biggest douche in the whole series. EDIT: Got completely ninja'ed :D Probably found some way to expose dean dickwad for getting Mike barred from Harvard, then freeing him to get in. As for the envelope looking old, as people mentioned, TV magic of being able to use it later. It's not like all their lawyer stuff in the show has been 100% accurate anyway.

It's an old paper, and he's just showing Rachel he got accepted long time ago (hence, that is why it is in the same episode as him being shown he got accepted long time ago to Harvard in flashback)

There is 0 reason for her to be happy about it if he went "I got accepted in the past." The "It's a long story" is not explaining how he fixed the situation due to the episode getting long.

He was trying to show her why he had changed his mind about her leaving to pursue her career at Stanford. He was denied the chance to do what he wanted (Even if life magically helped him with it later), and he didn't want her to lose the same chance for any reason. Not saying it's the best reason, but that's why he did it.

I don't think it was established as to whether or not he was going (and what that entails for his job at the firm and his future), but he clearly wants to go. That was his plan back in high school when he got in the first time. In before Rachel turns into a jealous bitch again. Wait what? He was showing Rachel his old acceptance letter. He didn't ever re-apply. Anyway, he couldn't go to Harvard without his secret being exposed, even if he was going for a masters. He'd have to trick Harvard into thinking he had already been there, which is impossible.

Only Jessica went to the trouble of looking for Mike's college record and only because she was vetting him for grooming to future partnership. If Harvey vouches for Mike, most people at the firm would accept that as good enough. They used to allude to things like Mike doesn't know about any pizza places around Harvard but while he got looks, nobody suspected enough to look him up. The biggest plot hole is that the firm should constantly be hiring new associates and nobody has ever looked at Mike strangely, wondering things like why they've never seen him around. 2nd biggest plot hole is the curious question of whether Mike passed the bar exam and has a license to practice law. It's assumed he would ace it, but he would have to pass a pretty extensive background check. Maybe it will be a plot device in the future. Certainly as he rises the associate ranks and participates in more cases, sooner or later he should run into someone else from Harvard ostensibly from his year also rising up the ranks (like Maria, the associate Louis wanted but had to decline). She didn't check because of that she checked because Trevor told Jessica he didn't and she checked to prove it. Also to the person above you he didn't really have a job the 4 years he would have been at Harvard because his "job" was taking tests for people which gave him enough money to afford his expenses. Also never doubt the power of suggestion as to why he was never found out. If its said that he went to Harvard and he has the diploma people from that year might actually think they saw him around. The interesting plot advancement on that front will be when the actual number 2 in the class shows up because there cant be two of those.
