I know it's fashionable to hate on basic cable dramas, but I really don't think the writing is cheesy. Basically every network show, even a great show like House, has much worse writing than this show. I think I'd even argue for True Blood having cheesier writing lately.
So, if your point is that TV shows have poor writing, sure. If your point is that Suits has poor writing compared to most TV shows, I call bullshit.

Wow awesome episode, next week gonna be insane!

I watch both White Collar and Suits. Although neither are great, I find White Collar the more interesting of the two.
Suits has an inoordinate fan following and love, in my opinion.

Hardman really is a devious kind of guy... will be interesting to find how the next episode pans out :D
Also, either Harveys mom was cheating 24/7 OR she was actually a hooker ^__^

I dont know how anyone can say this writing is cheesy after that scene in the bathroom. I have never seen such raw emotion on any cable TV drama that I saw from Lewis in that scene.

I suppose one could consider some of Harvey and Mike's lines cheesy, but they play an indispensable role in adding character and personalization to each person as well as their relationship. One of the better writings for a TV drama in my opinion, and I appreciate the subtle humor it throws at us.

The thing about USA shows is that they focus around making awesome characters, so even if the story writing is off the characters carry the show hard.

True but I think Suits is different than other shows with the hero being awesome and other character dull. Suits have pretty much sans Mike, all characters are likable and stylish.

Started watching this show couple of days ago and binged through it. Such an awesome show and last episode. I can't shake the feeling that Donna is really innocent and that the memo was a plant by Hardman, who is working with Tanner in secret. And this will get revealed sometime down the road and be the way Donna ends up back in the firm because let's face it, Donna is way too awesome for the writers to axe.
And finally I love how they have handled Louis's character. He went from being pretty much a clown/comic relief in season 1 to becoming a genuine character in season 2. The actor that plays him is pretty incredible too. You just got Litt up!

I want the above to happen. Jessica Pearson, Harvey, and Mike to start up their own firm. Then confront Hardman, Louis Litt, and Rachel in lawsuits.
BUT I would love to see the show moving on to the primary plot which so far have only been character interactions.

I dunno, I disagree. I made it through the first season of white collar, and the only thing drawing me back was Tiffany Amber-Thiessen...this show at least has Gina Torres (heart melts) and a better cast IMO.

Yeh i'm getting the feeling Tanner and Hardman have something going on together...Tanner was pretty clear that harvey had to be disbarred or there would be no settlement of any kind. Then Hardman 'helps' mike find dirt on Tanner, and gets a settlement without anyone else even seeing said dirt(including mike) and Tanner rolls over and gives a settlement, setting up the perfect situation for Hardman to make his powerplay.
I think the overall writing of the show is fantastic, but it does have its bits of cheese, lots of Mikes parts feel a little cheesy(and his super brain can make things a little 'easy' at times. Also most of Harolds appearances are fairly pointless.

Mike is gunna get shat on by Harvey.

Completely agree. When Louis yelled, I totally got choked up for a second.
