just a conversation between kkj and gildaran dictating what will happen. and they just completely ignored kkj's teenager appearance upon return, wtf. ghost seems kinda lame to me but I only watched like first four episodes. if you wanna watch kdrama for the storyline I suggest The Moon Embracing the Sun. its based on a novel so it actually has a storyline and good ending.

What's up with all these ugly endings to k-dramas? It looks like koreans plan the end of a drama to occur in 30 minutes total and being totally rushed. Like in every drama there is a like a big event happening one episode before the end and then they try to solve it in 1 hour. That's so retarded, I'm disappointed now... I was considering watching midas though because Lee Min Jung grew so much on me. Does anyone recommend it?

and yeah AGD is starting to get really dragged out, starting to get too cheesy for me.

Maybe helped along by LMJ being one of the most beautiful creatures I have ever laid eyes on, but I enjoyed this drama thoroughly. The story was good, the leads had a lot of spark and the supporting cast were top notch.

Hong sisters knew what they were doing. Maybe helped along by LMJ being one of the most beautiful creatures I have ever laid eyes on, but I enjoyed this drama thoroughly. The story was good, the leads had a lot of spark and the supporting cast were top notch. Here's my ideal ending: The 55 minutes of fluff at the beginning of ep.16 gets removed. The episode starts with the scene where da ran and kkj meat for the last time before the time lapse. They both go into surgery and switch. KKJ ends up retaining or regaining his memories, they kiss for the first with the real body. Da Ran apologizes to yoon jae. He's hurt but understands, but it's all better when he meets female doctor. They decided to finally start dating. The Ma-Ri/brother part of the ending was already good, as well as the resolution for the other minor characters. No plot holes, everyone's happy. Boom perfect ending. KBS has already contacted me, and I'll be writing their next drama.

So you were just upset because it wasn't a predictable, cookie cutter, happily ever after ending with no thought required? Your ending is how a child would write it.

+ Show Spoiler [BIG spoilers] + For me, it ended the most boring way possible and I was just "meh, it could have ended without the '1 year later' and it wouldn't change a thing". I also don't see how it wasn't "happily ever ending". You see the happiness of the pregnant teacher and her husband (don't remember the names); the young girls has finally healed; and there is absolutely no upset Yoon Jae trying to understand what the hell has happened during all this time (which would have been really nice and mandatory imo). Yep, the ending was everything you mentioned above, except they did it the most disappointing way possible. At least ~94% of the drama was good enough to make up for it (unlike Fashion King). Big was a fucking awesome drama.. why so many haters? Top drama of 2012 so far.. probably 2011 too since that year sucked for Kdrama. If you don't like romantic dramas stay away, but otherwise omg its perfect. I think most people really liked the drama, but they just hated the ending (which is a legit concern since this is the thing you will remember the most about it). On this note, I'm gonna start Midas. I really hope Lee Min Jung is as god tier as she was in BIG. She won my heart after that drama.

The problem isn't that it wasn't happy enough for me, it's that there were many glaring plot holes left at the end. What happened during that year that passed? There was no switch scene at all, even though that's what the entire plot revolved around. Suddenly we just jump ahead a year and everything's back to normal. Did KKJ accept his real parents? Where is Yoon Jae and how did Da Ran patch things up with him? There's no reason for all of this to happen in the span of five minutes. They had plenty of time to cover all the bases and failed to do so. It could have been done in any number of ways as well; my cliche ending isn't the only possibility.

They could have made the switch earlier and played out the Yoon Jae story and given full closure on the da ran/joon thing, but honestly that would have been a weird ending, since the character has been in a coma all along nobody should care about him. I liked the ending, it was sweet without trying too hard to ram happily ever ending down our throats, though I thought the terminally ill kids suddenly being fine was a bit forced. Happily ever after would have been aforementioned closure for da ran/joon, mari/shik and yoon jae/doctor lady. As it happened the only one we were guaranteed were the sweet teacher couple, which was the mandatory thing since that was all they were there for. In closing, the reason it ended the way it did was so you remember Gong yoo and LMJ as the couple from the drama, not the kid who was asleep for 14 eps or whatever. If they had switched them back a few eps ago it may have been ok to play it out like that, but it seems odd that nobody else realises that would have been really messed up. Why else do you think they kept Gong yoo's face for the last scene? It was all intended.

LMJ was far better in Midas, but as a business major, a show about aggressive ibanking and M/As kind of makes me biased. That said, I genuinely liked the character and role she played, but the end left a bunch of questions and made me feel unfulfilled. I guess I'm echoing everyone else here with the whole 'korean screenwriters can't write endings' mantra. Last couple episodes of AGD seem to be dragging a bit, but honestly I'd be more surprised if a kdrama didn't string things out towards the last half of the show. Im Meahri constantly bounces from annoying to adorable and back again. I have no idea how the writers are going to make this work; even in the west, 17 years difference is a monumental age gap. I just hope they don't end up giving us the 'love transcends all boundaries' bullshit. I'm going to try and find time to finish phantom as lee yeon hee is a cutie and off the praise it's gotten, although last time I listened to people in this thread I ended up watching k2h which was just all sorts of terrible.

Yep, I guess they are better with annoying and ALWAYS disappointing cliff-hangings. God is it annoying to wait one full week when you know the cliff hanging is gonna be ruined anyways. This is why I'm considering waiting for a drama to finish completely before starting to watch it. But then, I would be stuck with that horrible "I spent a full week-end watching a single drama" feeling that I hate so much. Oh the dilemma...

I think the only reason it bugs me is because he lost his memory. It's basically a reset button on everything that happened during the switch. Even though Da Ran remembers everything, the couple they were during the body switch no longer exists. Because of this, I don't want to remember the Gong Yoo/LMJ couple because it's almost like it never even happened. Hopefully that made sense, because its 5:00 am and I'm not too sure what I'm trying to say lol. In closing, I think big was a decent drama with an average plot, above average characters, and a below average ending. But that's just me, everyone's gonna have a different opinion about it. Looking forward to AGD and Ghost endings later this week ![]()
