All you Ari Gold fans can rejoice, the latest and final season (there will be a feature film created after this season) of the HBO hit series, Entourage, has arrived.
Last season ended with a bang, Vince going on a huge downward spiral of decadence, ultimately getting arrested for a club fight and cocaine possession. Now, he is coming back home.
Personally, the first episode of the new season didn't impress me that much. Some things just seemed a little off, such as Ari's forced tantrum when he desperately wanted some booze. But i'm sure things will pick up and we're gonna have a great closure to a great show.
It's disappointing how far down hill this show has gone... Let's hope that at least the end of the 8th season (and maybe the future movie?) can give a decent ending to a show that started out so great.
The last season wasn't great but I have high hopes for this one! The first episode was OK-ish but nothing spectacular. Calling a continuation of the relationship with Sloan (or however that's spelled)
Agree with most what has been said already. Season 1-5 Awesome, 6 meh ok, 7 wtf is this bullshit. Season 7 was mindbogglingly bad... how can they remove all the flare and make into pure shit that i wasn't even interested in watching after it being one of my favorite shows.

I remember flying through the first few seasons in a matter of days but especially 7 became almost grind like.
Felt awkward to me, 7 ended at a pretty big climax and now we're like 90 days ahead of that? I wanted to know what happened immediately after season 7 ended. It's weird seeing Vince act like this too... hopefully things pick up. I liked Johnny's Bananas.
Last night's episode seemed to show Entourage returning even more to where it was, plot-wise anyways. I especially loved what happened to Ari. I've been waiting 5 seasons for that!
I think season 8 started off quite good, especially compared to season 7, but also previous seasons. Hopefully less of the grind and more of just sheer awesomeness, expecting this season to go out with a bang.
from the trailer i thought there would be something happening to E or Drama, happily this is not the case. still the most shocking thing i've seen in Entourage
I like season 8 so far, much better then season 7. Episode 2 was the best of the season so far. I just love Ari Gold, he is such an epic charecter. The show may have had its ups and downs but the cast have made me watch every episode of every season. Also Sloan is pretty fucking hot.

i'm pretty impressed with this season so far. the ending was COMPLETELY unexpected and it's time likes these that make me wish the entire season was already out! i can't wait to see what's next.

E could never pull Sloan in real life. That's all I know.

I watched seasons 1-5 in a week. season 6 took another week. I didn't finish season 7, and I probably wont watch season 8 =(
I feel like this episode reminded me a lot about the older seasons where stuff is crazy but seemed to always have a strong ending. Turtle actually co-wrote that specific episode if I read correctly.
I blasted through the 7 seasons and now waiting a week for a 20min episode is just a pain. I love this show, both for the storylines and the jokes. Ari gold...is gold
Ari Gold WAS gold. This show kinda went down when world started to fuck Ari instead the other way around. Even Turtle lost weight and became lame. Drama is boring as always, E is pussy, billy is the only one who constantly ownz.
Most ironic thing about this show is how Vince who is acting an actor is basically worst actor of them all (:
seasons up to 6th were better but hey, gonna watch it nevertheless

LOL so true. He`s easily my least favourite character. He complains too much, does the most dumb shit and at least in the olden days didn`t listen to Ari enough.

sounds like a lot of actors in hollywood
You make a good point. Though I'd take liking the main character over realism in this case haha

Agreed that Ari should get back to being a fucking stallion. Also turtle was so much more fun when he didn't have a real job and just sat around smoking and popping jokes. he gives too many fucks now. Drama's character has always been boring to me, E's my favorite for some reason, billy's billy.
Also lol at last sentence.
Did we ever learn why e and sloan broke up before this season? don't remember season 7 all too well.
You can really tell when a show has gone downhill after they use gimmicky rap songs to hype up dudes walking around having drama. U'd expect vin diesel to be throwing guys down flights of stairs based on that track.
This season has been alright, but I thought what they did with Sloan and Eric was really stupid. I must be in the minority who actually thought this show got a lot better as the seasons went on. I really enjoyed season 7 and I thought season 6 was the best season.

Let me tell you this. Sloan is pregnant. Yep, I ruined it for you.
Always same shit. A couple that is supposed to be together but because the show lacks drama they fight the entire time, when they break up they have sex. 1 Pregnancy later everything is perfect again.

Yeah I knew it... Obvious bullshit is obvious.
Last episode tonight in the US right? I will watch it tomorrow.

Damn I love this show.
Did you just quote and discuss the show with yourself?
Entourage has been a great show and I'm sad to see it go.
That being said, this season has, by and large, been pretty weak. The storyline, or lack thereof, has had zero substance and there has been nothing to really get involved with. The ongoing crap with Sloane and E is just boring and has been so overplayed up until now.
It's had its funny moments, but it seemed like the writers ran out of ideas... Maybe why the show is finishing? I hope they make a movie after this season though as I feel such a great show deserves to go out on a better note.
I didnt care for the ending, or this season. Everyone had some huge issue in their life, and then it all gets resolved and a happy ever after ending. What they did with Sloan and Eric was dumb, and Vince getting married was just silly.
Overall Entourage has been an amazing show though, one of my favourite of all time. I will definitely miss it.

Of course it's weak, it's gone down the shitter since the start of last season (in fact I stopped watching it after a few episodes of last season because I felt it wasn't Entourage anymore).
That being said, I hope the writing can redeem itself in the movie.
I hate when shows end. This wasn't the best show but I still watched it all seasons and it's sad to see it end. The worst for me was The Wire. When that show ended I didn't know what to do with myself. Bodie dying--many tears were had.
An Ari gold spinoff would be pretty nice, a normal fairy tale ending though. Vince getting married was pretty weird, but it does seem like the show needed to wrap up. Still one of my favorite tv series ever, I hear they are making a movie or something?
I liked the finale, though dissapointed they didn't atleast make it an hour long. Adrien Grenier ( Vince ) confirmed that there is 100% going to be a movie. I'm not entirely sure what it would be about or the time frame.
On September 13 2011 00:57 Liquid`Nazgul wrote: Vince marrying was so fucking dumb. That girl was about the opposite of someone who would say yes to a proposal after 24 hours.
Still the episode made me happy cause I'm a sucker.
Pretty much exactly how I feel. They should have just implied that she actually liked him and then had the proposal/marriage in the movie. This woman is supposed to be a by the book kind of girl, also doesn't seem like the type to want a ring worth $1.4 million but I guess that there is a little bit of that in every woman.
O M G So this is really over At least it was a good finale, although i dont like that Vince is getting married so fast but over all, AWESOME show altogether. I will miss every single on of the actors from the show.
That was the most garbage final series and finale I've seen in years. Good lord. Fuck everyone involved with that steaming pile of shit, there is no way I pay money to see that movie, even if it focuses around Ari who was the only tolerable person thatwhole season.
His storyline was the only remotely interesting one this whole season and frankly, as good as it was, it was not entourage. And that plot device seriously only took place to make the movie tie in. That's all season 8 existed for: a teaser for the movie
Fuck that.
Vince's angle was so bad this season. Turtle and E I couldn't stand. Ari and Scott are the only intersting people on the show
Vince's marriage was weird but it was good because it was a happy ending for his character. I liked this season a lot more than 7 and the ending was pretty damn good overall.
It wasn't quite the ending I was hoping for of "Turtle gets his pilot license and kills everyone on his first solo flight" but a gruesome trainwreck is pretty close.
Highlight of the episode (possibly season): the legs in E's office room. At least it's over (until the Ari spinoff happens.)
Lots of dumb shit happened during the later seasons, but the show had a great run and i'll always consider it a really good one. The finale wasn't amazing by any means, but it made me feel good and that's what Entourage was all about. I will surely rewatch the whole series sometime soon ;D

The Ari scene at the end though O_O
Yeah but it also didn't make any fucking sense at all.
Maybe it makes sense for Vince since he is an impulsive person that doesn't always think things through. But does that girl strike you as the person to get married after 24 hours?
It was a very sloppy ending but i suppose with only 8 eps to wrap it up one can only do so much.
But truth be told, the entire season was just forced happy ending writing with the last ep taking the cake.
On September 13 2011 04:39 graan wrote: The only series ending i really enjoyed was seinfeld, this forced happy ending with the movie teaser included.. gave me nothing.
Well let us not diminish the value of those shots of Ari's wife...
Well that was pretty much the definition of a happy ending. Lets see:
(Warning: Spoilers ahead)
Vince successfully recovered from rehab, his career is peaking, he just made a ton of money from the Tequila business and he is finally settling down, marrying his dream girl - this last part being totally unrealistic, seeing how she acted and what her standards were the previous episodes.
E also gets his dream girl, in another extremely unplausible scenario. After all the shit her put her through, and coupled with the fact that her father literally wants to kill him, and he is one of the most powerful men in LA (not to mention a former psychotic murderer/rapist in A Clockwork Orange :D ); suddenly Vince shows up, gives her a 2 minute pep talk, and she goes through a complete 180 degrees regarding Eric. Yeah right.
Turtle becomes a multi millionaire, even after making the extremely poor judgement call to sell his stock. But luckily Vince turns into a providential character, filled with wisdom. It seems like nothing can go wrong for these guys, whenever one bad thing happens to them, another amazing thing is lurking just around the corner.
Drama gets his TV animated series and movie, after being on the verge of losing both. But again, Lady Fortune (and Vince's bribe money) saves his ass.
And finally, Ari Gold, not only does he make a life changing decision to quit his work only as a gamble in hopes to get his wife back, but we see at the end that he is offered even a greater position than he previously held, a job that would render him nearly "Godlike status", as the show tells us.
So yeah, basically absolutely each and every one of the important characters ends up with a very happy resolution. But i guess this is what the show has always been about, some guys just balling in LA, living the good life. I suppose it's only fitting that it ends on a positive and uplifting note. And makes me even more jealous that i don't get to experience that kind of lifestyle (yet) :D
Overall, good show, and i'm kinda looking forward to the movie.
On September 13 2011 04:59 Candadar wrote: I have never seen this show.
Is the first season worth watching to get into it? What is it even about?
A group of friends of wich one is a big movie star.
Basically wish fullfillment for adult men with the largest parade of hot women on the planet and a high-end lifestyle that we would all like to have.
The comedy is good in the earlier seasons and the overall feel is something you won't really find anywhere else.
I went through the first 6 seasons in about 2 weeks.
It's Sex and the City for boys. Except at some point they stopped including tons of hot naked chicks and the humor got weak unless Ari/Lloyd were carrying it. Ari really is pretty great though, especially early.
The College Humor take on it is actually pretty accurate, as far as the story arcs go.
The E and Sloan thing didn't make any sense. she says she doesn't care about the prenup or money, then it turns into the biggest deal breaker ever. they don't even really explain the whole situation, they just start the season with them hating each other. E turns into a GIANT douche, and rage stalks Sloan while revenge fucking her ex-stepmom. wtf? Melinda Clarke was much appreciated. Sloan goes from hating him to loving him after a conversation with Vince, give me some xplanation for the whole Sloan/E relationship!!!! don't just keep switching back and forth with no explanation or reason.
i can see Vince falling for a girl, he was always searching for the one. Sophia's character was a train wreck. she had so much disdain for Vince after their interview, but one creepy movie and a date later; she agrees to marry him. wtf? she was not a shallow groupie, yet that's how she ended up...
Ari being a little bitch all season was a bit much. His wife, basically out of nowhere, wants a divorce...she put up with his shit for 7 years and never knew he treated people like that? he berated Lloyd in front of her countless times. He even called Lloyd "Cunty" in front of her during their big reconciliation at the end with the opera dudes. I really liked his story arc with Dana Gordon (i love constance zimmer). The extra scene after the credits was really good though. his wife's ass is always appreciated, and hollywood trying to pull Ari back in is almost tragic. I feel like he won't be able to turn it down, like an addict.
Turtle...he had been steady hustling for a few seasons, so i guess it was alright that he came out on top. I would've slapped the shit outta the italian restaurant couple. All they wanted to do was see celebs and go to a lakers game.....they even told him straight up. people like that anger me. I don't like how they wrote off the Avion story arc. Turtle just gets pushed out, his girl stops taking his calls, and he sells his shares to start a restaurant...ugh...........
Drama's story line seemed the most true to character. it actually showed growth throughout the season and series. everyone else just seemed to change over night at some point during the final season. he finally put someone else/an idea ahead of his career and it paid off. Then Phil Yagoda decides to fuck him over and not put him in the movie? WTF Phil!? of course vince saves the day and gives the guy 100k.
we all knew it would end in the best way possible for all of them, but they way they crammed it into half an hour by skipping all the details and just giving us conclusions and miraculously repaired relationships out of nowhere was insulting. at least in the previous season finales they took the time to let us see things working out. here they simply made Ari and Melissa reconcile b/c he quit his job, even though their original problem of him being an asshole to everyone was never addressed; Sloan forgave E for everything with no reason to do so; Vince flies a non-bimbo to paris after one date to marry her, after she wrote a scathing article about how he is a womanizer, and they bone on the first date.....next time make it an hour and explain some stuff to us. I gave you my attention for 8 years, and you gave me a season full of drama with no resolution except, "and they all lived happily ever after..."
hahah who the fuck wrote that last episode? it was cheesier than... cheese. I don't know what was more corny, the overall "im gonna get you back plot" or the dialogue.
I mean the show hasn't really ever been of the best quality. It was just fun soap-opera for guys. And it took a turn to "less manly" in the last couple of season, and I don't really care about that. The writing is just horrendous right now (especially in this episode). When the after-credits-scene with Ari came I started to wonder if this was satire, that they spoofed themselves.
Was there a single line (except for the comic relief) that wasn't absolutely cringe worthy?
Hilarious hoe they crammed in the resolution in 30 minutes. With an open ending ofcourse, there might be more money to squeeze from this lol.
I think that the how he treats women thing was more of a thing that enabled her to finally cause all that emotion to boil over. For the past couple of seasons she always had an issue with how much work dominated his life. To me, it kind of seemed one of those things that by itself might not be such a big dea, but when combined with other things it spun out of control.
One of my favorite series ending so lame. Vince getting married was random as hell, no substance. The Sloan and E relationship working out and no real good scene insight as to how Sloan had a change of heart except the little dialogue of Vince and her. I can't believe the guys didn't make a big deal about Vince randomly try to marry someone after going on 1 date.
Ok so i finally managed to watch through season 8 this weekend, at first i was kinda sad that it was going to be the last season, as ive followed the season throughout many years. But after i saw the final episode i realized that it really is time that it ends here... probably THE worst episode out of all the seasons
. This whole season there was just too many side-stories, you didnt even know what the main story was anymore, and none of it even made sense, one second they hate eachother then its all fine?
To actually break the plot of the last season down properly you would need another season, it was all happening so fast, it just felt like they wanted to get it over with and crammed in as much shit as possible. So that everyone could get their fluffy rainbow-sprinkled ending to their individual story.
I knew for for several years that the series was past it's prime, but i didnt realize quite how much so, i find it really sad that they had to close out in such a bad way after having some of the highest quality TV i've ever watched in the first few seasons.

I think the season was pretty good, the ending of the series in american shows are always happy endings and ties down everything which in turn lead to these crappy last episodes.
