Great season finale, but makes me wonder how the hell is this going to continue next season. Walt doing his own business? Gus's minions going after him, new cartel?
Good fucking show.

wonder if mike will still be in it, but i can hardly imagine him as antagonist, but he is pretty much the only involved person who survived this season (besides saul and skyla, but they always belonged to the "relatively" good characters). also since next season was announced as the last season, i kinda doubt they will introduce another big antagonist as was gus. but, oh well, have been wrong every single time with my speculations about future episodes lol.

Its so unbelievably rare that a series keeps up, or even ups its quality in the way "breaking bad" has managed to do it. Since people already wrote about the episode without putting spoiler tags in i'll just say SPOILER AHEAD and continued. I'm happy with the episode and its conclusion. Although gus was a great character (and giancarlo esposito better get a fucking supporting actor nomination along with mark margolis for guest actor) he had to go to make way for the last season with its most basic theme of the ultimate conculsion to walts downfall. (and i fucking hope jesse will pull that trigger and at long last get to know what happened to jane that night) I was so unbelievably scared while watching the episode that gilligan will pull of a "chase" and end the series right here (which in itself would also have been awesome), but i am happy we're getting whooping 16 more episodes to wrap up this masterpiece of a tv-show. As for the episode itself: *ringring* "I won." Nuff said. Or not, because i think i have to reiterate how great mark margolis as tio was. You have to imagine how little room he had to shine in that role, without much gestures and any speech, purely by that little bit of mimic he brought the character to life...unbelievably great. -- at last, i gotta say i feel cheated by myself. The final conclusion would've been much more shocking and of a wtf-moment if i didnt feel the need to speculate all over the interwebs with hundreds of likeminded people about the "who did it?"-question of the penultimate episode. I've gone into this episode with a 95% certainess that that last scene would be exactly what it ended up being, so no shocker there. But well, its still great we can discuss for dozens of pages one single scene in this magnificent show, isnt it? :D On October 10 2011 21:54 Teejing wrote: i would recommend "friday night lights" and " the wire" and "games of thrones", but if you can read go for the books. While that all are great shows all around they are not in the slightest comparable to "breaking bad", which is great because there is literally no show like it. "The wire" is awesome, no question there, but it lacks the suspense (like both other shows aswell) which makes breaking bad so unbelievably tense. "GoT" is pretty good aswell, even though as a book reader one has to come to the conclusion that its not close to "the best ever". "FNL" at last is one great social tv drama show, but its not even comparable in the slightest. Still, all solid picks for a show to watch in the meanwhile. I myself have to say that with this fourth season, and its preceeding three seasons, "breaking bad" has elevated itself at long last into a league with "The wire" and "The sopranos" as the third show i'd consider labeling as "one of the best ever". They better not fuck up s5, lol.

Yes, next week. Good final, not too many suprises, still enjoyable. Not a fan of the cheesy half blown head scene though.

I still dont know who is scarier from Walt and Gus.... they are both sick motherfuckers ! I wonder what course the last season will take but I can guess it will end with Walt dying in some crazy way. But I would like him to die from his illness .... he is too badass to be killed by someone else. For a moment I thought Gus was unstoppable walking out of the room so calmly like nothing happened at all.

You clearly dont watch "Justified" because it had a kickass 2nd season + season finale and has been pretty much my #2 show this "year" (as in 2010/11-season) (and yes, this is an unconditionally recommendation :D)

Really will miss Gus, he was an awesome bad guy ![]() Yeah, Gus was up there with Walter and Jesse in character importance. Show isn't going to be the same without him. Gotta wonder if next season is going to be a three-way showdown between Hank, Jesse and Walter instead.

I wonder what happend to the real poison, the kid didn´t take it. Also: How exactly did Gus find out about the carbomb? Did he see it? Seems obvious but they didn´t say a word about it. I belive in the final season they will show how Walt will go out of that business and return to his casual life. There are still people knowing who he is. At least mike.

Still, did anyone else see it how I did? I was watching, and the moment Gus walks out the door I start trying to think up how in the hell he could have survived it. Gus has been built up more and more this season with scenes like him walking into the clear against sniper fire and killing off the top echelon of the drug cartel. So my mind is racing trying to think what the fuck they could do to excuse his surviving that explosion, especially as he is just adjusting his tie after it. Then they cut to his face with the missing flesh and the eye socket and the shine of bone, and am I the only one that immediately thought + Show Spoiler + Holy shit, he's the fucking Terminator!!!!

There are still people knowing who he is. At least mike. He probably knew about the cigarette Ricin poison plan via his intelligence and cameras. Add in that Jesse's wanabee "son" mysteriously gets poisoned. And it means Jesse wouldn't come to work, thus forcing Gus to personally visit Jesse, which in turn gives Walter an opportunity to strike away from Gus' usually meticulous security. Gus knew that Walter poisoned the kid and planned to strike since a few days earlier, Gus had threatened to kill his entire family. Long story short, he knew something was wierd and that Walt had gone off the radar for a few days.
