Honestly, the way Sesaon 5 ended was great. Like, if you cut off the last 30 seconds (where it has that sorta twist that sets up the next sesaon), it was wrapped up quite neatly. I woul dhave been happy with that ending. + Show Spoiler + I mean, after they've killed the damn Devil, anything they ever do after that is just so... insignificant I completely agree with recklessfire's spoiler, too. As for Season 1 sucking, I don't think so. It got me hooked. I watched 4 seasons in a week, and then started watching season 5-6 normally once per week. Season 3 (where Ruby was still hot and they didnt add that stupid twist with her/Sam) was my favorite. @ below me: Yeah, hot Ruby was first. The new Ruby was totally gay. Didnt kill people by the dozens, wasnt as fun to look at, introduced the whole... stupid...thing... with Sam... I wasn't a fan of that stuff. | ||

Google it, Season 7 is in the works. I loved the Ruby change, because it did essentially note a change in Sam. I think the newness was essential for what happened in season 4. It just made sense. Season 5, I think is the completed work of Erik Kripke, which I mean he spent 10 years on. Its gonna be hard to be better than 10 years of preparation. I think they definitely can go on and have been, but what I think they havnt done as of yet, is realize the biggest fucking thing happened ever, and treat it like that. Instead they are trying to do everything at once. Develop the characters, make a new plot, wrap up the last plot, and from what Ive read they are trying to make stronger episode stories. And what is happening is that trying to do all that, they are not focusing on the little things, like adding in the hard-rock or trying to put in transitional music that doesnt flow with the story and I think the biggest making the plots develop way to easily (anyone say Frontierland?). | ||

The Ruby change... you're making it seem like it was a planned change and you're giving it meaning. While I guess its okay to look at it this way, I look at it the 'real' way: there were some budget cuts and had to replace her. That entire season was, to my understanding, supposed to be 'bigger.' + Show Spoiler + The entire Demon-War thing was supposed to be a larger, more epic scale type war, but since they couldnt afford it, they had to make it more of a small, spread out thing with pockets of fighting. Worked out, I guess. Just made me sad when I read that; would have been so much better. =[ | ||

No, you're right of course. I agree too, and I dindt see it ocming either. + Show Spoiler + Earlier on in the season, though, that one scene where they have both an Angel and a Demon in the back seat of their car... I thought that was the coolest thing ever. I was like 'these two have the coolest fucking allies' Should have kept that team for a little and just kicked some ass IMO. The thing that bothers me the most is the whole ...stupid thing that I mentioned ealrier. Don't want to give spoilers (even though its in a spoiler :D), but I just did NOT like any of that at all. Thought it was uncreative and poorly executed. I sorta just put all the blame on new Ruby. I think what the statement is trying to be made with that is that Sam's a monster too. Which is has been a major theme of the entire show. Its not as easy as having Sam do every monster he sees, no it makes sense to have it be with Ruby. It sets up for the end of season 4 and makes the point of Sam's a monster. I think it was great, but I might agree with you on the execution. | ||

Skipped through the thread because im not up to date and I dont want it spoiled, but did anyone else thing it shouldve ended when + Show Spoiler + sam had dragged lucifer into the pit and dean was with Lisa and Ben? I thought that was the perfect ending. | ||

Yep, I said that like 3 posts up or something. It WAS a perfect ending. The way I see it, if Sesaon 6, and now apparantly 7, are bad... I can just revert to the perfect ending and pretend the rest never happened, hehe. When I saw Crowley pop up at the end of last episode, I thought he was God, and somehow they were working on something. But that doesn't really make sense with everything Crowley did... | ||

So I think season 7 totally has the capability to get out of the rut. And yeah if it does suck though, we of course have to acknoweldge its existence, but I'm fine of thinking season 6 and 7 were just America being a corporate money hungry bitch as always. What I think the point of those things happening, is to show Sam's a monster too. Which I mean its talked about the entire series, which I think is one of the big themes of the show. I mean its not just as easy as Sam fucking every monster he sees, that just doesnt make sense, but having him be in a romantic relationship with Ruby makes sense in a lot of ways, and accomplishes the goal of showing Sam as a monster. I might agree with you on the execution though. | ||
