Discussing the show and past episodes is fine. Do not put things that have happened in the TV series in spoilers. However, don't spoil things from the books that may happen in future episodes. Put book spoilers in spoiler tags with a CLEAR WARNING that it is from the book.

Physical limitations don't matter, neither do weaknesses. Early stages of outbreak would involve lots of police restraining people and getting bitten, as well as doctors, nurses, and other hospital staff getting bitten during treatment/examination/surgery. So lots of normal people get infected that way, then they infect more, etc.

I really liked it. It was well made and follows the comic really closely. Unfortunately, it had one major, huge, insanely big flaw that annoyed me throughout the entire episode: even after having been ditched in a hospital, unconscious, for a couple weeks, his neck was shaved.

Basically impossible to restrain, able to take multiple rounds to the chest and still come at you. I've heard stories about people on PCP jumping off buildings and trees and snapping their tib/fibs in half and still running 100 feet before falling. Running on their legs as their feet flop around. Add to the fact that zombies don't go into shock or cardiac arrest and they are virtually unstoppable without a clean head shot.

Wow, immediately after posting this I tried to google to see if I could find stories like these to see if they were true and I found this on another forum: I recall hearing a story of someone who was on (or overdosed?) PCP and in an effort to apprehend him for one reason or another the police shot and hit him 6 times with little effect. He also was able to fight off five police officers which tried to pin him down and jumped off the roof of a two-story building, breaking both his legs and continuing to run until he presumably died from his wounds. That's really freaking weird. Now I am beginning to think it's a bullshit story like the tooth fairy that gets passed around by officers warning people about drugs. It's especially weird because I heard the "getting shot 6 times" and "breaking both legs from jumping off building and still running" from 2 different people. One I heard when I was 10 and the other I heard last night actually, lol.

But that's all extremely rare. The media hypes that up. There have only been a few cases like that. Most of the effects are observed in lab rats. Although the running on broken legs did happen, and someone also broke some handcuffs once IIRC. Normal reactions to PCP are getting tingly and being numb.

So glad to see walking dead got huge ratings. I honestly don't think the drop off will be that huge either. Unless future episodes are nowhere near as good as the pilot this show is going to be around for a long time.
