Discussing the show and past episodes is fine. Do not put things that have happened in the TV series in spoilers. However, don't spoil things from the books that may happen in future episodes. Put book spoilers in spoiler tags with a CLEAR WARNING that it is from the book. |

And you know he realizes how far he's devolving from what he was in Season one, Andrew Lincoln is killing this part imo. I really enjoy pretty much any scene with Rick now. He's definitely my favorite part of the show. He's had lots of great moments lately.

emily kinney on talking dead sitting next to kirkman and crying whilst talking about beth's death.

Everyone's asking WHY BETH WHY well duh it's pretty obvious that if a likeable character didn't die it would have been a pretty shit final no? I mean imagine if she didn't die, everyone just goes, people are just like meh a so so finale. They needed something with an emotional impact because they've run out of ideas on how to make the story interesting.

Wow they spent a chunk of the season on a minor character that they just turned around and killed. They traded Beth for Noah. The season started so strong with great pacing, then the Beth episodes happened.
|
That was quite the WTF moment.
|
Did they just killed Beth for the sake of killing somewhat important character on the midseason finale ?
|
Did anyone elose get the vibe that Dawn was raping Noah, and that's why Beth decided to take her out?

that was my initial thought too actually

Scissor stab to the neck during a stand-off over a one-liner was pretty crazy. Definitely on her period.

I felt like it was time for Beth to go anyways, love the character, but she wasn't meant for that life and on top of it, they never showed Beth the second half of last season and then this season, she has had like three episodes where she showed up in. So it seems like they were already going to cut her out. They ended this mid season finale on a medium note in my opinion. Gotta love Rick though, dude is serious. So is Daryl, he straight up shot Dawn in the head right after the death of Beth.

who was teh black dude at the end? if it goes into spoilers I dont mind spoil away for me.

That was Morgan, the guy we saw in season one with the dead wife and son. Also saw him in season 3 where he explained more to Rick of what happened with his wife and son. He stayed behind in an abandoned town to "clear" the zombies out of the world. Haven't seen him much at all since the first episode of season 5.
So on a separate note, am I the only one that feels Beth was in the wrong? I mean, Dawn was not an ideal leader nor exactly a stable person, but did she really deserve to die? I never thought of her as a villain like the governor or Terminus people, but I saw her more of an anti-hero. She had good intentions, but her methods were not viewed as the most ideal ways of going about getting to said intentions.

With help of u guys, I finally remembered the name of head-cop in hospital. Dawn.
As u might be mentioned she already lost a lot of authority out there, and other cops felt that, they were already thinking about her replacement, so she felt the same. Basicly to stay at the same role she had to act like a bitch, but sometimes her intentions reminded her exactly who she was before apocalypse, she was better I think, that's why she helped Beth in previouse episode with drugs.
But overall, all their hospital environment doesn't looks healthy, a dozen of ppl dominating others, their doctor stays in a middle untouchable and fighting for his life, and Dawn was a problem for all this imo.
So with her death, they might get another chance to make something better. I was expecting somebody will follow Rick from hospital, their doctor at least, or somebody from cops, but it still might be not that late?
It was pretty obvious that something gonna happen to Beth when they showed she were hiding scissors.
What is a goal for Ricks group now? Trying to figure out, but still nothing, Abraham needs a target to achieve.

Dawn was a power hungry psycho bitch. She killed her mentor and friend who was actually helping people and instead of continuing the good work with more precautions she created the ward system, basically slavery. They only saved "weak" people and she chose to look the other way while some of the cops were being abusive. She did all this while playing the victim. Fuck her.
Im glad Beth got her Django Unchained moment but man that couldve ended way worse then it did.

I think Beth worked out, since she new how things worked there, that Noah was going to be killed as a cop died "looking for him". That is how things worked in the hospital, he would have been the scapegoat for the dead cop, so she decided to trade her life for his. I think that is what she "got" before she stabbed Dawn.

1. The priest's (aka, The wire) the motives were just WTF? It's like the writers went "oh crap what do we do with Korrrrrrrrrl, Samurai lady and useless priest now that the muscle is gone?" Let's have the priest go on a literal guilt trip to emphasis even more what we already know. a)he's sorry, so sorry, not really, but really sorry b)he is useless
2. Beth committing suicide. I'm sorry writers but you DID NOT earn that. You either set up Beth as a psychopath earlier on or you must give a motive which normal people can relate to that would drive her to do such a thing. "OMG you're a big meanie that uses people" is not good enough for a sane person to just commit suicide like that. I mean wtf she's been living in an apocalyptic world for a few years now and she has seen and experienced first hand what it takes to survive in such a world. It's soooooo obvious that they just wanted a big "emotional" finish to the midseason and they think killing people automatically earns it.
Could not have said it better. They killed Beth just for the sake of killing a character. Dumb writing at its finest. All that buildup between Beth / Dawn is wasted, and no person in the right mind would do something like that.
I thought Beth was just going to say "Thank you" which would've been infintely better because (it gets Dawn into trouble with the other cops cuz it looks like Dawn sided with Beth, and also geninuely expresses gratitute, but that didn't happen.
It's hilarious how Maggie forgot she even had a sister that was missing the entire season until the very last ep. Didn't even try to look for Beth earlier.

Uhh, if I was Noah living in that kind of world and able to fuck Dawn daily I'd say I'd be enjoyin' it.
