Discussing the show and past episodes is fine. Do not put things that have happened in the TV series in spoilers. However, don't spoil things from the books that may happen in future episodes. Put book spoilers in spoiler tags with a CLEAR WARNING that it is from the book.

This entire season has been going kinda slow imo and people want to tout it as so amazing compared to season 2, even season 2 was not this slow. Season 3 is like dbz slow. I waited the whole goddamn episode for them to get back to the prison, they finally did, and then nothing really happened.

Really not liking where season 3 is going after the episode, it's more drama and less zombies.

I get that this show is inherently bleak, but watching shitlords howl at each other using poorly articulated arguments and logic is the worst thing about it by far and why the "talky" parts inevitably bog down in cliche and tedium. the tragic part is that I'm absolutely sure a way must exist to make this character ennui relatable, but the show has never truly addressed it other than andrea's suicidal tendencies in season 1 (and beth in season 2, but honestly that subplot was godawful), and that's the extreme end of that position and runs counter to any sort of reasonable discussion about what you lose as a human being when society collapses. I'm not saying I want a debate club argument with optimism on one side and cynicism on the other, but, uh, this show being about something certainly would help it along. I'm still watching this next weekend, but my expectations are dialed down severely.

Not only is Andrea seemingly striving to beat Lori's world record, even Lori herself returns as a motherfucking ghost! Not that that's new, I just had forgotten how annoying The Walking Dead's women are during the mid-season break. I also can't stand Michonne, who is too "badass" to open her mouth and answer even the most mundane of questions. She's a hallucination. We are seeing Rick lose it.

for real though, glenn and rick's breakdowns are part of their humanity being displayed, how can people complain about this drama, it's a big time part of TWD, and people claiming it's just circular or that there aren't enough zombies is just.. ugh you don't get TWD at all.

I was sad to see Daryl leave the group but I'm pretty damn 99% sure he's going show up at a very crucial moment later on in the season. + Show Spoiler + COMIC BOOK SPOILER + Show Spoiler + Just like how Andrea returns while the prison is being invaded. Maggie, her sister, and Carol are the only females I like in the show. I like the direction they're heading with all that drama between everyone. IMO the zombies SHOULDN'T be that scary any more, it's been around 10-11 months since the outbreak. Other survivors are what rick and his group should be hella more worried/scared about. I think the reason why Rick sees Lori standing on the catwalk while everyone is trying to convince him to allow Tyrese to stay is because he feels like the last time he helped out people he didn't know (the convicts), it led to Lori's death... Basically he feels responsible for her dying, and the fact that he was mad at her before she died makes it worse. And he won't lose another person (carl or baby) from helping out some randoms. But yeah I'm loving the show right now.

I don't think anyone has any problem with Rick and Glen cracking under the stress, it's just that the execution in depicting this development is more suited to a day-time soap opera. The hallucination was too much in my opinion, too overt and felt forced into the last scene. We know Rick is dealing with heavy stuff and is already a little off his rocker but springing that in the last minutes of screen-time was a big "WTF" and not in the good way, because there was no focus on Rick's inner turmoil throughout the episode until that point. Visual hallucinations can be used to great effect if done correctly. Boardwalk Empire had some great sequences in the past season where this kind of thing happens. The pacing and execution of the episode allowed me to understand the character and relate to why he was disturbed. Zombie-hallucination Lori and Rick's outrageous reaction to her did not accomplish anything for me by comparison. I find it unpleasant when that kind of batshit insane moment is sprung on me without some build up occuring throughout the episode. It's jarring as a viewer and doesn't allow for me to relate to Rick. If there had been an auditory hallucination or two in this episode leading up to it, that scene may have been quite effective for me. Or slip in the hallucination for a split second a few times earlier in the episode and have Rick sort of shake it off before the breakdown. As is, it was just poor storytelling imo.

My only complaint from that episode was the Andrea scenes, god every time she is on screen I almost want to vomit from the pure stupidity that flows from her mouth. That speech and the acting in that scene were just beyond atrocious imo. The sooner her and Michonne die the happier I will be, Neither character adds anything to the show for me and both actresses don't seem to play their roles very well imo.
