But i guess they somehow had to take this episode to resolve the Pierce-conflict. Heres hoping for some "community"-esqe to come this season.

At first I thought so too but it's just her pullover with horizontal stripes and a push-up bra that make them appear larger. In the intro where they dance you can see quite a lot of Britta's cleavage and they seem unchanged.

The episode was more melancholy, and some of the best Community episodes ("Mixology") have been more melancholy. I don't see why a comedy needs to be funny 100% of the time. I like that Community is kind of a dark story, and this is greatly contrasted by the brightness of everything everywhere in Greendale. It's perpetually unexpected. Gotta be carefull on that road. 30 rock thought it didn't need to be funny 100% of the time. Now it goes on for entire seasons without anything funny happening.

Also BBT isn't on hulu so people watch BBT and watch community later I don't think they share much of the same audience.

It's not comparable. 30 rock has no melancholy, it's just a joke factory. When 30 rock isn't funny, you have problems. Community doesn't work quite the same way. Community is more comparable to Party Down, which was also a very melancholic and dark show. I'm not saying, by the way, that any time that Community isn't funny it must be being melancholic. There have been bad Community jokes. I am merely stating that the lack of funny does not necessarily mean that it is a bad episode. This particular episode is an example where a lack of funny does not correlate.

and uhh, well I remembered Donald from Derrick Comedy so I figured I'd give the show a try since his sketches were pretty good got through the 2 seasons and s3e1 in one sitting. damnnnnnnnnn. pretty glad that Chang is gonna stop being desperate to join the group and be a tiger again. also, this show needs more drunken Duncan. that guy is so underrated.

They haven't even heard of 2001 nor Kubrick. Really depressing. Best comedy on TV right now though. Needs to win an Emmy. EDIT: Oh and I don't understand why people want to see Jeff and Annie together. I mean, I see their chemistry and enjoy it, but they're like 10-15 years apart. Seems more creepy than anything to me.

All of the geek jokes are super mainstream. I remember in the second season reading comments on the AVClub from comic fans about how none of the characters on the show knew what they were talking about. They mention Superman/Batman/Hulk/Spiderman and one or two other famous superheroes, and are also not up to date on the latest in their stories. Basically, most of the people I have met that enjoy the show are not people I would categorize as nerdy. I would not say the same for fans of Community.
