i hope the show goes on but honestly it's viewer ship right now is pretty bad compared to a lot of other shows. i'm being a pessimist and saying that it ends at the 3rd season, but i would love to see them graduate. i really hope the series ends with graduation.
i just love the show because of how clever it is and how satirical/witty it can be. if you think about it Abed is a perfect personification of the show.
oh and gillian jacobs is the hottest chick ever
when i saw the gq photo shoot i was like holy shit this is the best thing to happen to me since i found out TL i would hate for the show to end at graduation, although this show does run on a somewhat annual Halloween and Christmas episodes and has an illusion of progression, this is a sitcom it runs off a premise them actually having deep plot development can be put off for a very long time. I mean how long can lisa and bart never grow up in the simpsons? Forever because they are cartoons ofc there is a limit on the age of people in sitcoms though. This isn't the venture brothers where a running plot is actually kept track of and has significant meaning throughout the season
You do realize Joel Mchale is like 45, playing a 25 year old, right?

He's playing 30 somethin actually pretty sure it's never specified... that's why he can't date annie cuz it's creepy. Also joel is 39 People don't look to age very quickly past like 25 people can retain the same look for 5ish years if not longer with makeup etc =p it's movies yo.

oh man, last thursday's episode was great. britta/chang story was hilarious, and the main story wasn't too bad either. can't wait till this thursday.

I dunno if you missed the first episode, but his backstory is that he's a sucessful laywer who gets fired when they find out his law degree was fake. Pretty sure that would put him in his 30s.

from what I can tell these are the ages of all the characters at the start of the 1st season:
annie-18 troy-19 abed-18/19 britta-28ish jeff-30-32 shirley-35-40 pierce-63-64

Troy and Abed in the MORNNNNING!

this week's episode was kinda weak...
|
this weeks episode was alright
i disliked the chang thing. i liked last weeks chang/britta episode better.
main group story was okay, they're still trying to push britta/troy and annie/jeff but it just doesn't ever go anywhere.
seems more like group development rather than character development.

It just felt like the episode went nowhere. We already know Chang is crazy but in this one his lines literally made no sense. I was excited about the noir theme but they really didn't mine it for all it was worth and in the end it fell apart.
The group acted like a caricature of themselves this episode. They basically fought for no real reason about things we all know about them already and there was no resolution to anything. It just felt like there was barely any movement along at all. Troy and Britta's "chemistry" in this episode was so heavy-handed and Jeff and Annie got no play this episode to the point of totally being ignored. I dunno, I totally rewatched both season 1 and season 2 recently and today was not up to snuff at all. Definitely a rocky start to season 3.

yeah i agree with you
the group fighting thing was already done so many times and the chang thing was done last week.
i actually really enjoyed last weeks episode, i thought the season opener to continue the story was needed, i just don't see how this episode had any significance.

Agreed, episode 1 was really busy with a lot of story lines but I liked it, it was well done and last week's was a nice annie/jeff episode but like annie/jeff in a creepy way. I guess everything feels heavy handed, I hope they have a good one next week
EDIT: Ah, I just realized the writer for this week's episode was the new one they hired so hopefully she won't be writing again lol...

I thought the Chang detective thing was hilarious at first but it got stupid as it went on. Also, I'm still rooting for Jeff and Annie even though it's getting less and less likely.

I feel like if anything they're giving more and more focus to jeff/annie and finally exploring britta/troy.

really? i thought the first episode was iight, the second was terrible, and tonight's was the first GOOD one this season. Does no one else agree?
|
I thought the ep was pretty good :3 The credit skit was was great this week too :p
|
Last week's "I farted." "No, I farted." "I farted.' -Pierce "I'm still farting." Practically died here. This week's though was meh for me.
|
I kinda enjoyed this weeks episode towards the end. It had a Seinfeld sort of feeling where nobody actually gives a shit about anyone outside the main cast and nobody ever learns a lesson.
|
meh this week's episode only made me laugh when Jeff told his lab partner he had a developped mental disorder and starts acting like Abed.
Todd's "none taken" was kinda funny but they abused the shit out of it before he flipped out.
Chang detective was... insightful. "The kind of arms that had elbows..." entertaining for a while, hope they don't do it again.
|
This was the first episode of the current season that I really liked
|
Hmm, I actually thought this was one of the weakest episodes of the entire series. The jokes were just not very funny, and the Chang mini-story was just annoying. The writing was just very "dry". Nothing really happened in this episode.
