My problem with my recent foray into EDM is that I don't KNOW what I like I can name songs that I like but I can't ever figure out the genre they fall into the label to attach to said music, I'll edit after work and add in some of my favorite songs and see if you guys can tell me what I like so that my search will be easier. Also a good place to download EDM for Zune? I'm sure a regular download and throwing it into the folders works like it did when I downloaded SMASH GORDON, which btw if you've never heard his set, I think you're missing out. 48 mins of awesome. I personally believe I'm into hardcore music, my problem with EDM is that some of it is too slow for me in casual listening. I can deal with buildup in the club because the sound is that much greater the general hyping the inevitable crash is intoxicating, but in my car I just want ceaseless violent melody. I know I like DnB, dubstep trance and house, but harder always harder. Ugh hard dubstep is like sex to me, all twitchy just thinking about it. like I said before, I'll link the shit i like after work so hopefully you guys can link me to some sites for DL or some more bands I'd be into.
Hello all. I come to you today with the hopes that someone can suggest some music similar to what I have been listening to and loving lately.
Deadmau5's longer, non-vocal songs, the progressive house style songs, have been pretty much all I listen to lately. I threw a lot of them together onto one track, and I listen to that most everyday.
Arty has been once of my favorite producers in 2010. Below are some my favorite tracks by or mixed by him in the past year or two. Its all uplifting trance/progressive.

What's with today's peaople and their association with certain "genre"?
Personally, I listen to music that I like and don't give a shit who else might listen to it or not and what genre it is.
But back on track, probably posted before but I can have this songs on repeat all day long for the entire week and never tire of them:
Seriously, it's like the ultimate test for the song, put it on repeat and see how long can you go on with it.
Edit: I'm terribly sorry for all of you who just want to chill out, there's one more never-ending song for that:
The reason I'm interested in what genre the music I like falls into is not because of some social coupling I wish to create, it's because then I can go onto alldj.org hit HARD and practically download everything on that list and like 90% of it. It's so I can find music easier...
Here's an analogy you might like. That's like going into a library and protesting the dewey decimal system. Or the diff b/w fiction and nonfiction and fantasy and horror and mystery and romance... How would "steve" feel if you had to sift through 1000 books judging them only by their cover and name all in the hopes of finding a good story. So "steve" stumbles upon Stephen king and loves his work. So Steve reads all his books. But now there aren't anymore new ones, he can reread the King books but that get's old and he'll soon want a new author. So you go to the library and ask, Hey, where can I find books similar to Stephen King, like what are the books labeled as? And then some guy is like whoa dudemanguy I just can't stand today's edgy generation man and there need to like.... label things man.... man shit's just wack man. So then I respond in said library with a witty analogy juxtaposing a library for EDM and crazy circular theory begins.
Now you're wondering whoa a library that's quiet what does this have to do with EDM. Let me enlighten you. "steve" is me, books are songs, some guy is manitou and the library is TL forums.
See, now you're all like whoa thx that helped show me the error of my ways and my hipster edgyness is a thing of the past. I now realize the importance of labeling. No problem man, ur welcome.
