The accident, which is under investigation, occurred on Wednesday, Oct. 31. Lucker passed away this morning, Thursday, Nov. 1. He was pronounced dead at 6:17AM at the UCI Medical Center in Orange County. This news was confirmed by the Press Enterprise, which spoke to the Orange County Coroner's office. He was 28. Lucker, who was known for his colorful, heavily tattooed look, leaves behind a young daughter. Suicide Silence released The Black Crown in 2011 and were working on new material for their upcoming debut release on Nuclear Blast America. We will report further details as they become available. We also send our thoughts and prayers out to the family and friends of Lucker, as well as fans of Suicide Silence." http://www.noisecreep.com/2012/11/01/mitch-lucker-dead-dies/ This is so sad, was never a huge fan of Suicide silence but they were certainly legends in the deathcore scene. RIP Mitch Lucker

I literally can't get enough of this band, I've listened to this album at least 100 times in its entirety and I still find myself staying up just to listen to it...

Dream Theater - Octavarium just may be the best thing written in like the last decade. Those two songs are so wonderful!

I can understand what Jari was talking about now with how mixing might have been such a daunting task. There are so many layers to every song! While I do think the album is fantastic (When Time Fades Away and Sons of Winter and Stars are playing on repeat in my head right now), I'm slightly disappointed that the insane soloing we know and love Jari for is not really there in full force on Time I. Here's hoping Time II brings some of that back! I couldn't agree with you more! I love the album, don't get me wrong, the compositions and orchestrations of everything are breathtaking. That being said, I was still kind of disappointed Jari's amazingly technical guitar work took a backseat to all the synth'd orchestration. The guitar work WAS what drove the melodies and orchestrations for every song in the self-titled, I would I liked to have seen it again on this album. I'm hoping this was just sort of an intro and that Time II is going to blow us away. Either way, Time I is still an amazing album, just not quite what I was expecting.

Iron Maiden - Hallowed Be Thy Name is the best heavy metal song ever. I've heard more people claiming this, but imo Iron Maiden is not heavy metal. It's not... heavy enough. Hammerfall & Manowar, there's your typical heavy metal and the difference is quite distinct. While already mentioned, I must give my praise to Manowar easily being the greatest heavy metal-band out there. Their songs are sooo powerful, and once you get over that the lyrics are a little over the top it's just amazing. Sharing a spotify list with some of my favourite metal songs, hope you find something new: http://open.spotify.com/user/jacobodead/playlist/48Bi9Hk7uKrFRRWbTTx8Us

Bastard Sapling - Dragged From Our Restless Trance (black metal) + Show Spoiler + Cytotoxin - Radiophoba (technical/brutal death metal) disclaimer: vocalist does pig squeals. I know that can be a deal breaker for some. + Show Spoiler + Desecravity - Implicit Obedience (technical/brutal death metal) + Show Spoiler + Judd Madden - Artesian (stoner/doom) You can get it free from his Bandcamp http://juddmadden.bandcamp.com/album/artesian. If you like it, show him some love. + Show Spoiler + Carach Angren - Where the Corpses Sink Forever (symphonic black metal) If you like that, check out their other 2 albums, they're also great. + Show Spoiler + Beheaded - Never to Dawn (brutal death metal) + Show Spoiler + I shied away from the more well known stuff(Cattle Decapitation, Dying Fetus, Cannibal Corpse, etc) since the typical metal fan will know about them. It's not that I don't like those albums(Monolith of Inhumanity is one of my favorites this year), I just wanted to bring some lesser known dudes forward. Enjoy!

Best music video ever made. Period. And the song is seriously awesome too. Other than that, listening a lot to the latest Anaal Nathrakh: The first minute of this song is absolutely insane, so much craziness and diversity in the vocals, perfect when you've lost a bit too much on SC2 ladder! As well, the latest BTBAM (love this band so much) and the latest Krallice which is probably their best release to date!
