I take your word that it is no doom. I don't really listen to that genre but it felt like a decent despcription. Did you listen through the whole song? It's just that I'm shocked somone calls that metalcore ![]() Although relistening to some she said destroy songs right now. Get your point in some way. Anyway who cares about genres ;P

No but seriously, I think metal as a whole has taken a huge downturn since his death. However now that Five Finger Death Punch is getting big, I feel a comeback for the genre.

You clearly haven't explored metal enough then. There's a ton of great groove/thrash bands out there. Yeah that's one thing I should probably do more of. I'm just very busy nowadays and don't have much time to go searching for music. Usually I just end up listening to the radio or having friends find it for me. I've heard through the grapevine that there are some great bands on the rise.

I can't really name any other band that is able to create such complex music while still sounding great! So many of their songs are out of this world...

This was before the genre was turned into a stinking pile of shit. Napalm Death's "Harmony Curroption" is a great DM record especially when noting it comes for the premiere grindcore band. Also calling it deathgrind is misleading IMO as original deathgrind bands such as Carcass (partially) Assück has such a different song. This thread needs more Demigod: and Autopsy

A progressive metal. I love it. Classical+metal ? Hell yes!! It's probably my favorite genre mix. Oh, some grind-core is also awesome :D

None so vile is one of the best death metal records ever IMO. Also Gorguts is classic And of course, Pestilence:
