The point is that the players actually approach AG and ask for contracts cuz they know he offers better than anybody else. AG isn't like actively recruiting up to 4 or 5 teams lol, they come to him.

My hope is that Valve limits teams per owner to 2 at most for TI5. I don't think anyone wants to see one person owning a third of the main event.
The thing is, to causal viewers, they can't tell the difference. You see how big of a distinction he has made the brands of EG and [A]lliance. EG is a "USA" team. Alliance is a Swedish team. If you didn't have previous knowledge, you'd think they are two completely different teams.
Although I can't say this with certain confidence, I feel like Garfield is trying to do the best for the game, at the same time maintain his business. As long as all his teams remain independent and are trying their hardest against each other, I don't see a huge problem. (For now.)
(But I also really do hope that other teams can maintain their top teams, healthy competition is always great for any scene.)

Nothing changes when EG own all teams. Only easier to get sponsored events like the pizza.gg stuff we used to have.

a self-righteous scrooge mcduck. Every once in a while he comes down to talk about how he's friends with black people and it's totally inappropriate to say slurs or be racist.
Then he goes back up to bury his head in the gold as Stephano hits on 14 year olds and Mason continues to use slurs.

Valve got lucky in last TI with EG losing to VG. Imagine if they reach that last game qualified and lose. Or even worse, pull a Liquid and "save strats".

A monopoly isn't good for the scene, it's just going to drive every other organization out because they can't compete with his money.

At this rate, games will be going until 2 AM local To be honest I think few can afford Dota teams because the prize pools are extremely high.
If we go back 2-3 years you saw so many organizations in Dota because a team would only cost them like $2000 a month in salaries and travel here and there.
