ti2 was horrible. am vs morphling all day and naga. people just remember it because navi got a surprising 2nd place and made it through the winner bracket.

Yeah. Such a bad support that feeds late game. But VG's draft is just bad,as bad as LGDs. Black was useless almost the entire game, just farming non stop. Come on lets be real here. VG had everything they needed to win that game. They even raxed Alliance first. Draft issues are when you get ran over during laning because you cant stop them from wiining all lanes, or when you draft no early game vs 5man early push. This was neither. Had one engagement went slightly more in VG favor at some point during midgame or lategame, this could easily have turned into VG win. Game was really close.

TI2 was fantastic past the group stages. I admit that it was morphling fest during the group stages but at the playoffs it really knocked it out of the ballpark. Navi countering naga with Jugg and Enig, IG countering Navi with disrupter, etc
TI3, on the other hand, was Lone Druid, Furion, Wisp-CK-Tiny every game. Not sure what was great about that.

Ya seriously haha, I can see why some people thought this was pretty lame from a spectator standpoint but it is not just alliance fault. lol how is it not Alliance's fault? Alliance has been the one team in DotA 2 up until this point that pretty much rats whenever they can to win. That's literally how they can win, other wise they can't. Picking Brewmasters means jack in that line-up if they got an Naga, it's so pointless it's amazing. I think you are clueless for saying that , but ill bite , they pick SPACE creating heroes so Naga can come online - Brew/Clock/Enchantress which all shine in the early/mid , then Naga comes late to finish the game , when C9 picks Naga/TB eveyrone praises them when other team takes NP and split push no one says a word (note that MANY teams runs NP these days) , if you watch Alliance games lately they were the one getting outclassed in the lategame (heroes wise) , so they figured hey this patch is about the ultra late game ? we pick Naga/TB\/Spectre every time to have a chance. you watched their game vs C9 Naga? they had raxs down and a 21K timber/Lesh and what not and couldnt finish it. they lost ultra late many games lately with a fighting lineup. but ppl are so fast to blame alliance when they pick Naga.... whatever. This is a smart post.

Still does not negate that Lich is still bad at late game. VG is still playing 6.81 dota. Picking non-carry meta won't get you far in this patch.

The lich pick was fine. You saw what he did in the lane-ing phase.
The point of the lich was to stabilize the lanes enough for VG to get away with a jungle doom. And in that sense, the pick was a huge success. VG picked an early game support as a trade-off to get away with an extra late-game core. Who cares if the lich feeds after that? You'll have a doom that's top of the net-worth chart in the late game that will be worth more than any "late-game support pair" combined.
It was a great idea, and one that was working in spite of the awful teamfights VG was taking.

Oh god oh god this draft so far. Na'Vi pls

oh wow
here it is - a support which would've sucked more than lich for VG in their games

Were you watching the same TI3 as everyone else? NP is the only one of those in the top 20 picks. Wisp was autobanned.

We'll probably see why once all 5 heroes are picked, thats usually how it goes.

TI2 was great, TI3 was great and TI4 was great. People need to learn to appreciate certain things and don't whine in general threads.
