It won't show up anywhere but the pennant count, if i'm not mistaken.. It is just to support your team. Valve gives a cut from every pennant bought. Also you get chances to win in-game items if you are watching a game and you have pennant for that team. And yes, you can install and buy it instantly. | ||

You can buy an item in the store for $1 that increases that number by 1, and having that item also gives you a small chance of having rare items drop by simply spectating | ||
