Your eyes do not deceive you, the Torenhire Dota League is here! For those who were not a part of the Brood War scene, the Torenhire-brand leagues are for-fun, community leagues featuring random friends, forum veterans and staff members from all over the site. The skill levels range from brand new to thousands of games played, which always leads to facepalms and hilarious plays!
The players are competing for a prize pool of 250 dollars in Amazon bucks!
Note: The 4v6 team banner features TL's very own Gene. Sup Gene.
The format is kinda nuts because I could only get 6 teams put together, so Pholon created this madness of a bracket! Group stages are BO2 for tiebreaker purposes!
The (replay) casting portion will be handled by a whole ton of people, such as Flamewheel, Firebolt145, Kipsate, and many others! The schedule is still being worked out, but the group stage games have already been started! We will likely start the broadcasts very soon!
We hope to see you there!
WHO WILL WIN? Shitpolling!

Confirmed, check him out on TL Liquipedia Facebook Twitter Myspace Bebo Ask Jeeves and all other search engines or social platforms. Also team 4v6 fuck yeah
Ez rares for Three Throws Ahead. Master strategist Leloup, Kupo #1 offlaner, BW-level chen micro from LaLush. I would also be up for co-casting if anyone wants me.
So what's the dota equivalent of redtoothing? Does he keep all of his items back at base as a split pushing NP with only sb and midas to that when it's time to go fight he is 6 slotted instantly? Or does it mean going aghs omni so you can almost deny your own buildings in a hope of baiting your opponents into bad fights?

edit: also we're the most 'MURICAN team out of the bunch so cheer for us if you're not a communist.

Never mind, the tournament was just a ruse to get a quote of this quality. We're done here.

SirJolt is being used as a professional stand-in for this, so idk he would have the time
I would like to see a cast with him and FW though. I would like to see Alur cast a few too since he posted that he wants to.
I usually find it easier to find time to cast than to play, somehow.
Either way, I'll be available to provide commentary if other people can't for any reason. I know there's a queue of people lined up to commentate, so we'll see how it goes. Fingers crossed I'll be able to get in there to talk through a game at some point.
The real issue is, I think, that I put a lot on someone else's shoulders. I can't stream, so I can only commentate with people like Kiante who can do all of that and then also obs
id like to point out that if i lose its because i was the nervous and felt too much pressure from being the most expensive fantasy player and you guys saying we will win

Team 4v6 is basically the team of unknown pub stars with a large fan base behind them, and kooky drafts and item choices. What I'm saying is we're Kaipi.

i get the impression that the name means that kollin is actually four players and the rest of his team is just +1 to the other team

Well the word is that Kollin is the next EE-sama
We're still waiting on confirmation though.
Only when he gets to play magnus. His rp's will lead the free world to a higher place in dota.
I am disappointed to announce that our sponsor Gene has failed to abide by the terms of our agreement and pay us (=me) this month's salary. As such, our team has regrettably been forced to drop him as our title sponsor and plan to adjust our team name and logos accordingly. We hope that our fans will continue showing us support as the team goes through these difficult times.
Cool, I'm going out to meet Flamewheel soon, when I get back I'll see about scheduling something with you +1, Sunday morning/afternoon your time open for you?

Working on getting the calendar updated, but the broadcast is 1.5 hours EARLIER than initially scheduled.
Broadcast scheduled for Saturday, Oct 05 10:30pm GMT (GMT+00:00)
edit: EU Rebroadcast is going to happen, thanks to Firebolt and a co-caster I haven't chosen yet...we'll put it up on the calendar however, so never fear, Euros!

You're right that it wasn't super-professional, but the games aren't, either. You guys made a wonderful casual atmosphere for some pretty casual games. I'm sure that most of the technical stuff will come with practice.

imo it shouldve been even more casual. flamewheel was pokebunny levels of tryhard

I prefer a fine balance between tryhard and casual, as best demonstrated by Day[9] in his cast of the legendary, metagame-shaping series between Chill and Combat-EX. That is: a cast intended to make fun of the players.

So I just went and watched the vods from last week(?) and got to see what it looks like to have myself casted (yay).
I had forgotten that the game opened with Pholon poking fun at me for my "always get blink" approach to playing CM, but in the end I actually bought a blink in time to use it once. Woop woop! Suck it Pholon! :D
SirJolt guide to making YouTube videos:
1. Crudely hack together video 2. Find song exactly the same length as video 3. Upload in whatever shape it ends up being

everythings so pixelly it reminds me of watching predota2 dota and low quality broodwar
I might as well be on dial-up, but since I'm terrible at following up on projects I knew I wouldn't upload it if I left it until today, so I just threw it up at that quality :D
I was actually just about to ask. Firebolt, given how tragic Twitch is here, would it be possible for you to upload to YouTube again? I greatly appreciate the effort
Haha, I was just digging for the link myself. I believe the ThDL is a by-invitation arrangement, whereas the LPCL should allow entry to anyone with a team and a minimum of 100 posts.
It's also being arranged, unless I'm much mistaken, by LeLoup, who is another fantastic person to have heading up an event.
In 10 minutes we will be broadcasting the loser bracket grand finals between NVM and STXSA, and the grand finals between whoever wins that and HOONPLZ!
